There are too many unanswered questions for me to take this story with anything but a large dose of skepticism. For anyone who believes that anyone accused and charged of any kind of sex crime are "guilty" simply BECAUSE they're accused, consider the following:

There are many innocent men who are falsely accused of either rape or child sex abuse when no such crime ever occurred. Although many people choose to believe "children never lie" about being sexually abused, or that teenagers never lie about it either, that is simply not the case. False accusations cases are far more common than some would have the general public believe. Children can be heavily coached by the vengeful parent or relative into saying things against the falsely accused that sound very believable. Teenagers can make up an accusation against a coach or teacher simply because they're mad at the accused person for a petty reason and decide to "get even."

Deliberate and malicious false accusations are made for a variety of reasons. These false accusers know something else; that even if they are caught in a lie, odds are that they will never be prosecuted themselves for perjury, a deplorable fact that needs to be changed immediately.

Edward R. Murrow once said the following in 1954:

"We must remember, always, that accusation is not proof, and that conviction depends on evidence and due process of law."

Don't judge this man as "guilty" simply because he has been accused.

Justice1st, you hit the nail on the head with that statement.

Really, there is no such thing as 'child sexual abuse' and 'statutory rape' in the slightest. There is unwanted sexual touching (when the child DOESN'T WANT OR CONSENT TO THE TOUCHING), but it should NOT be as serious a 'crime' as people try to make it out to be.

I've been accused of this myself (I will admit, I am a pedosexual but did NOT touch those children in the ways they said I did) and was FREAKING lucky that their brothers or sisters (some who disliked me) were there to say "My sister/brother is lying or exaggerating!"

It's simply time to realize that pedosexuality is a NORMAL sexuality, realize that children DO lie about people touching them sexually in order to get revenge on those people, and move on to being SKEPTICAL of children saying that someone touched them sexually without their permission or 'against their will'.

Basically, I tell children this: if they don't scream and bring me running THE SECOND that the person touches them 'inappropriately'.... I'm going to assume the touching was wanted and consensual, even if it's a 4 year old being touched by a 50 year old man on the genitals!

YIKES. I wouldn't believe anything this creep said. But teachers can be falsely accused of any kind of crime, for any reason. So can anyone else employed by a school.

There was a case in 2005 shown on the Dr. Phil program, where an assistant principal was falsely accused of some form of sex crime by a student.

This man was arrested, had to put up a $50,000 bond for bail, lost many of his friends and colleagues because of it, and it all turned out to be false. The accuser, a 16-year-old female student, called a reporter a short while later, and confessed she had made it all up because she was angry at the Asst. Principal for a reason I can't remember now. Personally, I thought she should have been criminally charged herself for LYING to the police or making a false police report. Unfortunately, she didn't incur any penalties for her own actions, which I find outrageous.

I don't know if this teacher is guilty or not, but I think he deserves the same constitutional protection of the presumption of innocence until proven guilty as everyone else under the law.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Virgo

If something is weighing on your mind it will start to affect your health, Virgo. It might make you feel tired or depressed, or it could dominate your thoughts. You know what you should do about it, of course, but it seems like too much effort or you want to pretend that it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, this escapist attitude won't make the problem go away and might even make it more tricky by the time you finally decide to tackle it.
