Cooper (AARP): <<And finally AARP is working to ensure seniors have the freedom to choose the doctors and specialists they need.>>

AARP cast its lot with the health care bill when they found out that they could sell their own Medigap if Medicare Advantage plans would be abandoned under the health care bill. This is big bucks for AARP if Medicare Advantage goes away for 10 million seniors. AARP is now doing "Obama-talk": Tell how much they are doing for you while raiding your insurance options to make a lot of money.

I am a senior myself. I refuse to have anything to do with AARP. Every political position they have ever taken has struck me as being anti-senior, or at least misguided and naive.

In regards to the article "Tremors ... at Playas site" in Oct.8th edition, I also heard and felt repercussions from the blasts on Tues. and Wed. I live near the golf course, but I have a friend who lives out Alabama St. and she, too, heard them. I thought at first it was a sonic boom, then an earthquake, but decided it was neither. Glad to know the source. One question: I thought Playas was southeast of Lordsburg.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Aquarius

If you're still happily munching chocolates and all sorts of other goodies, you'll have to take yourself in hand at some point during the coming fortnight. Maybe you'll have to compensate for all the festive over-eating by taking more exercise or cutting back on the calories, or perhaps you'll decide that you can't delay giving up smoking any longer. As Mercury turns in your twelfth house of secrets, messages you receive at this time may be very subtle or contain hidden meanings meant only for your understanding.
