Dement, you do not speak for me! I am tired of the way crime is out of hand and Virden does nothing.

I'm one of those Republicans that, at least in Lincoln County, am embarrassed by the actions of my party in regards to the Sheriff's race and the handling of things in the Clerk's office.

I'm tired of corruption, lies and cover ups.
Some of these cover ups are older than dirt --get the shovel! Time for an oil change in the Republican machine!

Dement, you do not speak for me!

Wonder how old Sara Palin would treat the local Repub team? I'm thinkin she'd throw them out on thier kister just like she did in AK. The Republican party does NOT stand for corruption. Lets give Virtual Den, Mad as an Ox, Lilly Cow Pie, Whinebreak, the boot.

What happened to Law and Order in the Republican party? I hate this. I just hate it!But I am glad it is coming to light, it has been whispered about too long now. I have a feeling if Virden does not get back in the county may have to build another jail.

You do not speak for me! I don't even know you, nor do I want to if you are backing the corruption just because it's Republican.

Kind of you to step out and write the newspaper, but you got it wrong. Your letter is worthless - and a lie!

Dement, I'm thinking you need to slide down the newspage and support the Rubber Ducky Derby (next letter on the newspage)instead of the current Sheriff. You effectiveness would be improved.

You Republicans have forgotten that Virden's blood runs thick with Democratic DNA until he sold himself to become a Republican so he could be sheriff in Lincoln County. He's NEVER been a Republican until then.

Sederwall has been a Republican for all of his life -- until he switched to Independent to run for Sheriff in an attempt to take the politics out of the race.

So if it's history and solid Republican values you are looking for, you are backing the wrong guy.

I can only imagine how Palin would have fun cleaning up this mess we have here in Lincoln County. I guarantee, it wouldn't have taken so long!!!

I get it. Could that letter been any more coerced? The last line, "we support all the Republicans...." Mr. Dement sent us a clue. He didn't say any of the candidates, including the Sheriff were the best people for the job. He didn't brag about their qualifications. He simply did his duty to the barest minimum.

I am a Republican and have been for years. No one asked me if I back Virden, which I do not. I have been around a long time. I remember when he was accused of stealing railroad ties and his buddy Sullivan covered it up. A thief is bad enough but a liar is the worst.

William Dement, don't assume you can speak for me, unless you contact me don't say Republicans are behind Virden, I WILL NOT BACK AN ACCUSED THIEF!

My husband worked for Virden, he is sneaky and a bully. I am glad someone is going to kick him out of office. I to am a Republican and no one asked what I though. So don't speak for me either.

I agree. It is truly a strange letter.

It ignores the point that the supreme court ruled that Mr. Sederwall had to be placed on the ballot to counteract efforts to keep him off the ballot.

Secondly, Mr. Dement's claim that the Republican Party is "working diligently to elect our entire slate of Republican candidates" is way out of line.

Under that reasoning, electing child molesters, wife beaters, serial killers, drug dealers and assorted crooks and criminals would be okay, as long as they are on the Republican slate.

Yep, the letter is more than odd, it is more like "demented."

I was shocked to see Mr. Sedarwall stand up and give Virden the fight he has most are bullied down by him. I don't know Mr. Sedarwall but he gets my vote just being as tough as he has to be. I knew Jenn, Virden's exwife, the secretary is not his first stray nor his last. He gets what he wants any way he can.

Like most of you I am a Republican who will enjoy seeing this Republican get what he deserves. It has been a very long time in coming. Hang in there Mr. Sedarwall, and thanks for what you are doing.

Posted by Mrs. Who Cares. She of course posted under her real name. I know it's an odd name but really, it's her given christian name. She would not accuse anyone of not giving their real name while she does the same, that would be funny.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Taurus

If your goals are fairly modest in the short term, they are achievable and you're likely to get some praise for achievements along the way. If you aim too high too quickly, others might not take you seriously or think you're being uppity and you could come unstuck. It's all a question of attitude and approach. There are contradictory influences over the next ten days but there could also be good luck coming your way.
