LORAIN Some Lorain City Council members are taking issue with Mayor Anthony Krasienkos directive indicating city department heads have to notify either himself or the safety or service directors before talking about city business with anyone.

The directive was sent Friday in an e-mail from Liz Foster, administrative assistant in the mayor's office, to acting Chief Building Official Richard Klinar, Building Maintenance Director Bob Evans, Director of Community Development Sanford Prudoff, acting Administrative Director of Engineering James Reagan, Fire Chief Tom Brown, Director of Parks and Recreation Bob Renney, Police Chief Cel Rivera, Streets Commissioner Chuck Camera, Utilities Director Corey Timko and Health Benefits Officer Ed Zaborniak.

The e-mail reads, "Per Mayor Krasienko: This is a reminder that before any of you meet to discuss any city business with anyone - you are required to inform the Mayor,(Service Director) Robert Gilchrist or (Safety Director) Phil Dore prior to that meeting. Violation of this will result in disciplinary action."
