Custer County better get ready to pay up. Hopefully Huddleston will appeal this and get it reversed. It is a shame that a jury could even think about taking the words of drug users and thiefs over the words of a Sheriff and even his wife. They must be smokin some good stuff in Major County or they are being paid off by these convicts so they will win their civil suit. Our country is in sad shape and getting worse each and every day with virdicts like this.

When law men break the law it tarnishs the whole system, as sad as it is, his conviction was a must to keep integrity in the system and insure others with this kind of power are aware of the consequences of this kind of abuse. To the jurors you did the right thing

I am so glad!! Burgess is getting what he deserves. This conviction has restored my faith in the justice system.

Just because those women are drug addicts does not have a thing to do with it they are people too and they deserve the same civil rights as everyone else! Burgess can rot in jail for abusing his athourity as an officer of the law.

Flo, yes Custer county is crooked, but they are far down the list when compared to Canadian County along with that DA that is sitting in ENID doing nothing except if it is for the good of her or her crooked cop husband. Think about it and you will know that I am right.

I just hope these women still have to finish out their convictions for the crimes THEY committed.

I am a police officer in a admin position if you abuse your powers then you deal with it he got what he deserves all people are human and need to be treated like you would want to be treated fair trail he got one chance to prove he did not do it he tried system does work every once an a while

I want these women to still be held accountable for the reasons that they were in drug court. I hope the best for these women. I hope they stay sober. That is the main reason that I feel the way I do. Drug court provides treatment along with many other things that can be very beneficial to someone who is struggling with an addiction all the while monitoring and not leaving them any room to get high. If they don't stay sober, then they have to face consequences. I think these women could benefit from all of that. And they could benefit even more so with a creep out of the picture that abused his authority.

GGG don't worry honey, rapists and cops don't last long in prison. He'll be rotting in hell before too long. Yes there is a God, and His justice is sweeter then any justice on earth.

At least we know that justice does prevail. And I am glad to know that this lawman is not "above the law".

Yes, now they need to look at the judges. How many cases have been thrown for under the table money? Custer county needs to be put in their place!!!

What is the saying, one rotton apple doesn't spoil the bunch? Just because one person is doing something wrong doesn't mean everyone in government knew about it and covered it up.

He had an affair with Joy Mason. I don't know many that keep their rapists pic on the coffeetable. Mason wanted to use drugs and not go to prison, in my opinion.

I know nothing about the others but you always have to wonder if it's not people coming forward for potential financial gain since none of them came foward before Mason got caught.

That's what I thought. Like I said in an earlier post, I hope these women still have to pay the piper for the crimes that THEY committed that landed them in drug court in the first place. I think that letting them off just because they came forward would not be serving justice.
