We need to get out and vote for better people then russ. He has done nothing to help the county. All that man can do is tear down the Sheriff, and get in the way of things that are going on in the county.

Rebuild a better Wilson county! Bring in jobs and create a better County for families to raise there kids. We have watched Russ and his gang do nothing but trash this county! After we throw Big shot Russ Walker out were comming for you Jim Richardson. Nothing but a lap dog for Russ Walker and a sell out to the county. Wilson County will drop the hammer on your ass!! Vote out Russ Walker

They are not useful public officials when all they do is start trouble and argue. We don't elect them to play games with our money. We elect them to get things done.

Did you read in the independence news paper where the correctional officers from the jail went to get more money? How broke is the jail?

Corrections said nothing about Bud Hanchi. The question was over what Wilson County pays there corrections officers. The county website says they pay $10.07 - 15.75 however that is not true. The truth is they pay much lower then that and is set by the county commissioners. If you did your home wrk you would find that the county commissioners use projected income to set the sheriffs budget. If the county falls short of that income projection the Sheriffs budget goes in the red.

It is pretty damn funny !!!We never needed a big jailhouse. Why did we have to have a great big one anyway ? It never is over half full, so we could have built it half as large. A great big jail and no money to pay the help.......... priceless. Here's Your Sign !

Here's Your Sign ! Again lets try and do some home wrk on the issue! The jail can hold over 100 inmates at any given time and right now they have over 50 wilson county inmates in jail. The small jail uptown only held between 16 and 20 inmates. For the last few yrs the new jail held over 70 wilson county inmates with room for out of county inmates as well. In the next 10 years wilson county will need a bigger jail. Wilson county came from having 20 in jail to over 50 in less then 10 yrs. Do the math

Do the math yeah right ... an even bigger jail will be needed in 10 years. that's a laugh ! why would we possibly need a bigger jail- huh ? they can't manage the one they have now. what's your basis for needing a bigger jail when the one we have now isn't even half full. plus the increase in the past inmates were because of all the meth labs. that's declining.

Meth labs on the decline? Wow you must know something the DEA and FBI dont. South East Kansas is a hot bed for meth and will not go away anytime soon. Commissioners refuse to understand how much crime has gone up in the last 10 yrs alone. The number of inmates in the county jail has gone from 20 to over 50 in less then 10yrs. So that brings the number of inmates to over 80 in the next 10 yrs if the crime rate stays the same. I hope the numbers are wrong but the history behind it looks grim. State wide the increase of crime has caused a demand for biggers jails. Take a look at Johnson county and other Kansas counties who have had to build larger jails. The same thing will happen here in Wilson county its a matter of time.

So is this topix about Russ or the Jail, I'm confused? Or is it about Varner? Do some homework, how much does a commis make per month? Probably a good supplimental income, I'm guessing $1300.
