what do you expect in a city where half of it's residents pay little to no taxes and utilize our public/social services the most?
we need to close down more schools. the kids in them mostly don't have a future anyway. waste of taxpayers dollars...
It's ignorant statements like those of "Beach Closure" that helped to pass Measure K (and thank goodness it did pass by over 71%). People are tired of the same old pessimism, racism, and all of the other -ism's. When I campaigned in support of Measure K, I printed out comments, such as those above, and I can tell you that 100% of the people I spoke with expressed their support for Measure K, as they wanted nothing more than to distance themselves from such remarks, as well as those associated with them.

The benefits of Measure K -- safer schools, less portable classrooms, and modern, energy efficient facilities -- will be seen very shortly. Thank you, Long Beach, for demonstrating that a quality education really is the quickest path to The American Dream, and a safer, more productive, and definitely more compassionate community.

<quoted text>maybe this holds true in your ghetto but who is gonna pay for this once the taxpayer base has fled? did you know the city is back on track to going bankrupt again?
teachers aren't being lured here so who is going to fill up these ghetto daycare centers?
it has been proven, time and time again, that the kids here are fairly worthless.
while the intentions of measure k were good at first, you will see this morph into a much bigger problem.
and it's not voters like mne that made this pass. it's the sheep following the herd and the uneducated that gleefully marked Yes for this dog.
Again, it wouldn't add anything of substance to the debate were I to "get in the mud with pigs" and respond to "Beach Closure's" comments(google it if you're not familiar with the saying, "Beach Closure"). But I do believe David Duke and his KKK buddies are calling.... they'd like you to tone down your hate-filled, ignorance-laced, small-minded rhetoric, "BC".

As for Measure K, the main benefit is that the quality education that it will help to support for generations to come will serve to further develop a well-informed, thoughtful, and proactive citizenry in Long Beach. "BC", you'll probably feel increasingly uncomfortable as your racist views will continue to fade into the .001% of the community that still clings to such arcane views out of fear, general insecurity, and extremely low self-esteem...(I may have gotten a little "dirty in the mud" with that last comment, but it may have been called for, under the circumstances. Oh well, when in Rome, oink, oink!:)...

thank you for the laugh though.
Did you know the Mayor of Los Angeles failed the bar four times? By that, I mean he never passed it.
He went to law school for no reason.

Imagine going to law school, studying all those years, and then NEVER passing the bar!

Failed FOUR times!

He could have skipped going to law school altogether and failed four times.

Actually, there are Latino senators, governors and senators. Think about it. That makes you ignorant on yet another level.

anyone can Google "loren drzal kentucky" to see the real you...
Loren's an unemployed old man. He feeds birds, and posts on the internet. Taking baths and washing clothes have become a secondary concern for him, so he is occasionally overcome by urine fumes, and delineating hispanics from latino's.
He'll change his political affiliations for a box of twinkies. He's not to ever be taken seriously, until he at least agree's that an office chair is not a substitute for a box of Depends.

You stand corrected.Well, there is Richardson, governor of New Mexico, Salazar, senator of Colorado, Martinez, senator of Florida from the top of my head. Not to mention countless others in congress such as Linda Sanchez. Can't believe that you are so uninformed. As for your question about Latino or Hispanic, what is your point? Both terms are used interchangeably. That means both can be used.

Just looking at the building you live in, I don't think your IQ has done much for your quality of life, Loren. Your neighborhood looks pretty bad.
Is that a housing project you live in?
I think I saw it on "Cops" once.

The "surplus" money will be chewed up in 10 years by the constant influx of illegals and their anchor babies.
This bill was a stupid idea that will only cost us more in the future.

I beg to differ. The average IQ of a typical Mexican is not high. Repetitious work is their destiny. Not the satirical works of Mark Twain.
Not all mexicans have the average, of course, but there is not enough relatively talented bright ones to make enough of a difference.
Their society must always return to their genetically prescribed mean.
