Supervisor Antonovich irate over Prop. 8 challenge

I have to agree with Mike Antonovich on this one. No doubts here.

As usual with the city and county of Los Angeles, liberals own and operate all facets of government. Courtesy, common sense, rational judgement and so on will always be non existent. As with the upcoming Barrack O' Fraud (AKA the Obambi) administration, free speech will be ok so long as you agree with their views! Followed along by the now never objective media. The year 2008 will go down as the death of fair or balanced media reporting.

2009 most likely will see the silencing of all opposition, especially talk radio, followed by gutting of the 2nd Amendment in the name of crime control, ya sure!

The last election only proved: When journalists lied, America died!

The VOTERS have spoken, what is it you don't understand ? Leave it alone and get on with living your life !

Supervisors Antonovich and Knabe have a totally justifiable complaint. Their colleagues acted without the customary courtesy due from one Supervisor to another. Taking such a vote without the known opposition present is an underhanded, unethical maneuver. Beyond that, and perhaps more important, I have read that Supervisor Burke's constituents actually voted some 73% for Proposition 8, so how on earth can she possibly be opposinig it now? In this action she is going against the vast majority of her constituents wishes, and their recorded votes. This is merely one further example of her failure to provide honest representation to her constituents.

All you bible thumpers are getting so old and annoying already. Give it a few months from now when the CA Supreme Courts overturns the Prop 8 amendment. Then, you'll have gays telling you to get over it, its been decided 2 times that marriage is legal as all you Yes on H8t intolerant people will be sure to protest. Just have some tolerance already because were here no matter what. We want to live in harmony but cant if your dictating our life. We are a reality and we are humans just as your are. I can't believe we got everyone judging us when the only judge of our life should be GOD.

I am all forward for the yes on 8 , also i think these people are being unfair to the votes. Why? i say cause this is what they wanted and they this is what they got. We won fair. I think they were thinking that they were going to win this and they didn't. Why can't they just take it as is. Now they are fighting to get there rights!! NO!!!! they shouldn't we got our votes and they got there's and now they just need to leave it as is . I see on the news how they are acting and it does'nt look good on them at all. God made Man and Woman to be married. Why do they have to prove themsevles they have to be married it's not the hate like they think it is , it's the sin that's what it is. I belive in God and what he made us to be Man and Woman to be as one.
If the court turns this around they are unfair because we voted and won they shouldn't take our rights away when we won fair and square.

Mr. Antonovich is absolutly correct. The County Board of Supervisors have no business what so ever in joining in on this lawsuit. It will not benefit the county in any way shape or form!

Why didn't the County spend the money to fight the ACLU over the cross on the county emblems? Instead they coward down and spend thousands of dollars replacing those emblems with new ones without the cross.

What a shame. Gloria Molina and the other two biggots need to be ousted from their seats. We do not need representaives like that in office. The people of California have spoken, again, against this. That's it, done deal!

Mike Antonovich is absolutely right. They had NO right to jump into something with out ALL members voting on it. This was an under handed move on the council part. Prop 8 passed and marriage is between a man and a woman. No one has the right either to call straight people prejudices or racists. Do you even know what those words really mean and the context to use them in? Does this then mean you are all Heterophobic? I think not. for hundreds of your marriage has always been between a man and a woman you are fight against the very thing that let you been born into the world the union between a man and woman to create you think about it. So you are let to get married then what? You can't reproduce children? So after awhile if everyone goes for the alternative lifestyle then what we all die out really get over it people. it was voted on not 1 time but 2 TIMES and the voices of the people were heard it was over turned the first time and it was bull then and you got a second chance and it was voted down again. no one is saying go back into the closet or anything like that but if you want to be with your lover get a civil union it gives you the same rights and have your lover write out a will and a living trust this what EVERYONE does if they are not legally married and no one every spoke about divorce what about when you want to get a divorce the court especially in LA country are over burdened as it is can you imagine what will happen and all the cattiness in a gay divorce. i have heaps of friends who are gay and trust me they are bad enough dating and living together they would be way more vindictive if they were to divorce. So you get the right to marry then what really then what. it is not about civil rights you have no real concept of this AT ALL you can not act gay but a person of color can't change they are of color get it straight

Guess he'll be tossed out soon but theres hope, the KKK is gaining power in Alabama so he could move there with his beloved bigots.

Under county rules, 3 members constitutes a quorum to conduct business. 'Nuff said.

Since just about everyone here believe that the board of supervisors has no business joining the lawsuit, then you probably agree that the churches had no business funding Prop 8, and should be stripped of their tax exempt status. Or is that somehow different?

I see. It is a simple case of hurt feelings. Perhaps Antonovich and Knabe can get over that. As for Burke, maybe she is opposing it because she knows from personal experience that bigotry should not be enshrined in any constitution. Perhaps, instead of tellin black politicians what to do, you should get back to the Cosby Show.
