Its about time that somebody took control of this obviously out of control situation. The entire system is based on false premises, and obviously misleading and false underpinings. "Medical" marijuana? There's nothing medical about it, other than a note from a Doctor saying it's OK for you to use it. Does the Doctor write a prescription, limiting quantity or requiring terms of use? Can you buy it at Walgreen"s where prescription drugs are sold? There has certainly been no control or enforcement over these "dispensaries." What a misnomer that is. It's simply semi legalized drug dealing. Let's face the truth of the matter. Are there people who need marijuana for medical purposes? No doubt. Shoulldn't they be able to get a prescription, a real one, from their Doctor, and buy the drugs they need at Walgreen's? Until then, this entire exercise is a lie and an abuse of power on the part of our State Legislature.

you say there is nothing medical about medical marijuana just semi legal drug dealing and then go on to admit there are people who no doubt need it medically. You are as confused as the government.

Well, they'll stone you when you're at the breakfast table
They'll stone you when you are young and able
They'll stone you and they'll say that you are brave
They'll stone you when you're sent down in your grave
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

How many people in LB are seriously ill at any given point in time (as a percentage of the population)?
How many people in LB are prescribed medical marijuana?(as a percentage of the population)
How many "dispensaries" are needed to provide medical marijuana to the number of people needing it?

Let's bring some facts and sanity to this discussion please.

Like the article says, I think overall this is a sensible policy. Sure it could be better, but considering the rift raft going on in LA this is good for the city imo.

Long Beach in general is becoming the place to go for cheap buds, they are always at the top for prices and quality at www.budbargain.com .
