Congratulations to the young man for protecting his property. Congratulations also to the LBPD for their quick reactions and capturing at least one of the suspects. I hope the second one is caught soon. Well done.

Too bad the victim didn't have CCW permit so that he could protect himself and his possessions. CCW permits are not given in Long Beach. Only police officers are allowed to protect themselves and their families.

It appears he might have seen the events unfolding from his house. If he went out there weapon in hand, would he need a CCW?

Most likely the jacker was a poor, downtrodden secular progressive advocate, gangster or illegal alien. In that area of town?

Take an educated guess at his background! My thoughts are he was NOT an educated thinker.

Well personally I think it was asinine for this young man to risk his life for a man made material possession such a truck that is most likely insured and can be replaced! what if these thugs had a gun and decided to use it on this guy? then what? A life lost, a father, husband, friend, brother gone forever! Thank goodness he was only assaulted and not murdered! If he was my loved one I'd chastise him, and warn him not to ever do something as stupid as to risk his life for a stupid truck!

Test Match,
Yes you need a CCW to even take a weapon on your own front porch, unless you are a police officer. I think it really is wrong. If someone has no criminal record, takes classes, has insurance, then that person should have the right to defend his family when they step out the front door or go for a drive. Don't think for a moment that cops go outside without their weapons when they are off duty. They aren't stupid and they see what goes on every day. The criminals have guns, just honest and hard working stiffs like us don't get have them.
Think about it.

Three segments of our society have lots of guns: the military, law enforcement, and criminals. The fourth segment, hereafter referred to as honest, hard working law abiding citizens, have severe restrictions placed upon themselves to have the ability to defend themselves from being seriously injured or murdered. What is wrong with tis picture? Either nobody can carry weapons, or everybody can carry weapons. Selective restrictions against only one segment of society,(see above) is just plain ridiculous. The people who pay the taxes and fund this society are effectively being prevented from defending themselves. Whatta country.

Well said, and I agree wholeheartedly. She needs to get outside and experience reality for a while. It's almost like she's under house arrest. Perhaps she is. "Now go out and have a nice day!!!" Sheez.

Very likely that captured carjacker has already given up at-large carjacker.

These are exciting times for the local politicians.
As Long Beach deteriorates into nothing more than a filthy northern suburb or Tijuana or a Gang infested Southern suburb of Compton, the aging hippies in City Hall enjoy the Chaos and Hate in the neighborhoods.

As Gays found when the politicians they support did nothing to inpire a No vote in the election, our elected pols have no loyalty, sense of obligation, or feeling for any one but themselves.
