Yes,CDL was a friendly post considering what was going on in France at that time. There were a few alerts while we were there but mostly things were calm .We tried to avoid some of the places that were heavily Communist populated.Poissey, near St.Germaine, was one such place.Unfortunately we had to go through there from our apartment in Villennes.Rock throwing and spitting was not uncommon. As far as CDl,I never felt the same commaraderie in other places that we were stationed. All services were at CDL and I met a lot of nice people. Thanks for sharing.
My husband and I lived in Poissey when he was stationed at CDL in 1963-65 with the Army. He was a bus driver for the military dependants and drove back and forth from Balle Manior to Paris several times a day. our daughter was born at Paris American Hosp. I liked living in Poissey,

I am so glad that Poissey was a good place for you.I only walked the main road so maybe other areas were nice.I lived in Villennes and loved it.I shopped Bel Manior after we moved into Petite Beauregard housing. Our oldest child was also born at Paris American Hospital .Did they have nurses that were also midwives when you were there?I am familiar with Milton,Florida. My oldest son is a retired Navy Capt.and lives in Pensacola and my brother-in-law is ret.Navy too and lives in Milton.Lovely beaches down there.

Was anybody in the Fouras area in the early 1950s? My father was Sgt. William (Fritz) Revene and my mother Peggy Revene.
We lived in Fouras 1952-1956. My father passed away years ago and my mother has dementia. I was very young and have some memories and photographs but would love to hear from anyone who lived there around the time I was there or who remembers my parents.
Thank you,
Maureen

And, I have my wife's 1961 & 1962 yearbooks from the Paris American High School. I met her shortly after she graduated in 1962. I was stationed at Orly Field at the time and she & her family lived in Grigny.

Would you know her first name?
I wish!!!! I have only found a couple of Col. Goodmans with daughters that might be the right age, with a connection to France and Texas, or New Jersey where I was born.
Patricia (Patsie) or maybe Janice.
I was told my birth mother was a fashion merchandising major at a south western university and and that her home state was Texas.

Hello to people who were stationed or born in the US camp of Croix-Chapeau (France).
A book : "le camp américain de Croix-Chapeau : centre médical de l'US Army 1952 - 1966 Du secret à la réalité" by Serge Extrade et Francis Lachaise" was issued on July 2012. Still listening to "les Ricains", Michel Sardou's song, French singer.
A bientôt. Martine de La Rochelle, France.

I was stationed at Nancy General Depot, with Det. 3, 256th Signal Co (Spt), from about Jan. 1962 to May 1964. Sure would like to get in touch with someone who was there at that time.

Bonjour,
A bientôt. Martine

Hi Robert, I am a friend of the wife of the late Charles "Chuck" Nevans. He was stationed in Evreux(317 ABGp)during this time, but she has limited information regarding his station and deployments. She thought he had been in Vietnam, but not sure now. The Air Force cannot find any records. She has one listing of service but nothing else. We are looking for anyone who might have known him and could provide further information.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Cancer

This is a fantastic day for talking to friends and kindred spirits because there's such a strong understanding between you. If someone asks you for advice, you'll find the middle ground between being too doom-laden and being overly optimistic. You're in an efficient and practical frame of mind, so swing into action if you need to organize something important. If you can't do it today, you'll never manage it!
