Too many LOCAL freshmen are lacking in mathematics, reading comprehension, and even basic writing skills to pursue lower division courses. It appears that upper level passing grades in some local high school courses are not indicative of the body of knowledge generally encompassed by a discipline.

Entering students should be prepared for academic rigor. The CSU system is not a trade school, nor is it equipped for remediation.

All students will benefit from increased competition in the admissions process.

Education for those that EARN IT

To many students skate by and then discover the real world to be different upon graduation.

Ask locals about their experience with HSU grads as employees.

CSU monterey Bay is cutting disabled student admissions to save money. Today the first day to register for classes and I'm notified that I've been put on a wait list, this despite accepting my admission offer over four months ago. Whedn I did I gave up the right to attend San Jose, San Didego, san louis obisbo and a couple of others I cant remember.
This is an ungodly mess that it seems the admissions staff is almost enjoying so they can give the news to poor dolts like mr by blamimg the Govornor's office for the cuts. Can we please just get over the partisanism and do our jobs to get people an education?

I worked as an administrative supervisor who interviewed potential
employees. So many of the young college grads were unable to even fill
out applications properly. Poor spelling, grammar, math skills, etc.
They would dress like they were on holiday, some with hangovers,
they were not all the best of their class.
A lot of good ones but so many who had new degrees were so bad.

It starts at the home level and continues through elementary, high school and college. So many poorly educated and prepared for the real world.
