Police target scofflaw drivers

Note to those appearing in traffic court: If the judge suspends your license, it's not a good idea to get back in your car and drive home from the courthouse.

Anything which can be done to remove unlicensed drivers, or uniinsured and unregistered vehicles from the road is a big plus in my book. There are far too many of them.

There are many facets to law enforcement and traffic enforcement is just one of those.

This is a worthwhile sting. They only do it a few times a year.

Getting any unlicensed or suspended driver off the street is a good thing. Those people who are unlicensed or have a suspended license are much more likely to get into accidents that cause damage, injury, and even death at a higher rate than those with valid licenses.

It makes sense now that they've eliminated the gang problem, Pine is safe and the homeless are no longer a problem. What a waste of time!

That's the kind of attitude we like to see in a police officer. Name calling, etc... Real professional!

Wow, you don't like the public OR politicians. I worry less about my reasonable insurance rates than I do about twitchy cops. There are more important "proactive" issues than this.

Not to necessarily side with poster "lbpd", but I'd beth Keith Krupp would be the first to howl in complaint if the LBPD cited him for some sort of traffic infraction.

...and this is why wolves feed in packs.

Excellent job, LBPD.

Two less hit-and-run knuckleheads on the road accomplished with a minimum of fuss.

Actually, I'm totally in favor of this law enforcement initiative, I'm sure the judge informed each and every individual with a suspended license that their driving privileges are suspended immediately (and maybe that they can't even drive home from the court). If the suspended can't grasp the word "immediately", they lack the intelligence necessary to even possess a driver's license.

I just dont understand why he feels the need to insult people to get a point across.

And you are right LBJJ, you two run in a pack.

Having been hit by two drivers who continued to drive on a suspended license (and of course NO INSURANCE), I can attest to the damage these idiots create. The law needs to be changed so if you are caught driving any vehicle and do not have a valid license, the vehicle you are driving is immediately impounded and sold to pay any damages to victims (exception only for a stolen vehicle). If someone is stupid enough to loan out their car, then they too must pay!

Good work judge and police officers alike!

Thank you for that. Personally I was speechless after reading that bozo's comment. He must've gotten a ticket or something.

When you drive a red Mustang Cobra you get stopped all the time. ALL THE TIME. I'm nearly 60 and nearly bald but those cops just can't resist taking a look. When they finally admit I've done nothing wrong, I often congratulate them for a job well done!

How cute, more name calling.

I havent had a ticket in 10 years. And the last one I had didnt happen in Long Beach.

And im sorry if Im more concerned about the 5 people who were murdered 3 miles away from my home, than people driving on suspended licenses.
