My name is Dan Bullock. I am the CFO of Cleary Building Corp. and I am writing on this forum to set the record straight. First some general commentary: Cleary Building Corp. has built over 77,500 quality buildings over the last 31+ years. While we are not perfect, we strive to be every day and have a customer satisfaction rating of 99%. When there is an issue with one of our buildings, we address it. We do so quickly, fairly, and reasonably. We have hundreds of employees whose families rely on our producing good quality products to provide them jobs. Specific commentary: First of all, I find it unacceptable that people, like Mr. Dame, with such strong feelings, and who can have an effect on the well being of so many others, don’t have the fortitude to have direct, productive discussions about rectifying his issues. Like the many others I work with at Cleary, we feel that being direct and forthright from the beginning is the only way to communicate. As for others that read or have written on this forum, all I can offer is a commitment to build you a quality product and correct any issue you have directly and with reason. As for Mr. Dame, we provided a reasonable offer to correct his issues, he was unreasonable in his manner and response and we are now in litigation to resolve this matter. Finally, there are those that work for us that we later discover don’t share our values, philosophy, or commitment to quality-yes it happens, like in any other national company- if they don’t serve our clients, they will not remain employed with us. I will end my short narrative with a simple offer. If you want the true story of a family owned and run business, that has a commitment to doing things right, and has done so more than 77,500 times over the last 31+ years, I can be contacted at our corporate office in Verona Wisconsin. I welcome the opportunity to discuss our company, products, and record of performance with you directly. As for the other 77,500+ satisfied clients, I am confident they are finding better things to do with their time than complain to you. I appreciate those who use forums like this for legitimate knowledge sharing and exchange of ideas, and do so myself with topics that I find interesting. I regret that I have to spend my time and yours responding to this. Dan Bullock, CFO/Cleary Building Corp.

I have been looking at different metal building manufactures and I can say I will not be considering Cleary. The quality of workmanship and damage done to the metal is enough to convince me. I cannot believe they would even consider this a finished product.

Cleary Barns claims to have 77,500+ satisfied customers - what's so difficult about making this one satisfied? Customer satisfaction is scarce these days. It's obvious and unfortunate that workmanship was poor in construction of this building, so why not fix it or make things right?????????

Please check things out for yourself. ANY company can have a dissatisfied customer - it's part of doing business. It's just like someone deciding not to like you on a personal level - you can't control that. However, a CFO who is willing to address problems is a positive. I hope that Cleary and Mr. Dame can resolve their issues. In the meantime, I will prudently consider Cleary, weighing good and bad results.

They will not fix their poor work and then sue him for bringing it to our attention. Sounds like his lawyers need to have Cleary show them all of the negative comments for all the 72,000 happy pwople

Just wanted to say that they have built for me 1 horse barn, 1 indoor riding arena, and 1 large equipment shed with absolutely no problems. They were built at different times and so I imagine 3 different crews were used. The buildings have been up since 2001 with the last one built 2 summers ago. We are planning to build another building and that is why I happened to see this thread. My advice is go see as many of the barns as possible and/or contact people that have used them. DO NOT take the word of a perfect stranger on the internet to steer any business decision. I really love our buildings and in fact many visitors think they are just recently built.

Why shouldn't Mr. Dame want his money back? He should NOT have to pay for that building. Dan, if you think all of your employees talk direct...then you're crazy, direct lies is what they talk. Posting your 'defense' here just proves you are unwilling to go the extra mile to ensure all of your customers are 100percent satisfied. Mr. Dame certainly wouldn't go to this degree if he had been given the kind of service he deserved. What you should have done instead wasting your time here is fired a few people in Colorado and made sure Mr. Dame had the kind of building YOU would have been proud to call a Cleary Building.
