did you read the fine print? judge carrol informed the defendent that if he dosent admit guilt and get treatment within that 1 and a half time frame then he will serve out the five to 8 years in prison..open up your eyes! the ball is in his court weather he wants to spend 18 months in prison or 5 years. wouldnt be a tough choice for me to decide on. i think this was a just sentence..oh yea wait..25 year mandatory right? but lets give the manslaughters and killers 15 years?

It sounds like the state is trying to help him get out of jail free here.

You mean you would prefer that he be sent to freedom in his country of origin, from where he could sneak back into the U.S.? I want him to do jail time for his crime, hopefully the longer sentence.

For starters, he is an illegal alien, deport him. He spends time in our jails, its costing us more tax dollars to house him, feed him and god knows their are no programs they claim to have to educate anyone in the correctional centers. This is another waste of our tax dollars. He will be deported once released anyway, so why not just do it now.

Why does this not surprise me? The usual lame sentence for a sex offender, 18 months is a complete joke, I am betting he won't do half of that and nor will he be deported. He will be just be sent back to society where he will do this again. Shame on Vt lawmakers, they too are not worth being voted into office, however, if there were an up coming election, they would be using this scumbag as an example of their "Get tough on sex offenders" campaign slogan and that is all it would be. Where are all the harsh sentences being handed down that they promised would be after Brooke Bennett's heinous rape and murder? Certainly not in any court in VT! 18 months for the rape of a child is their idea of harsh, in MI it would be 25 years to life!! So as usual, all they had to say was just plain bunk. I used to be proud to say I was from VT, now I am just ashmamed to admit it, way to go VT, you just slapped the hand of another sexual predator.

The report says he is not a U.S. citizen. It does not say he's an illegal alien. So, as far as we know, he's in the country legally. So why not drop the phony Lou Dobbs outrage?

send him back to jamaica now our hard earn tax dollar will be much better used than to feed him jail as i know sex offenders they dont wase tax dollars on in jamaica they just buried them in a short while before or shortley after the court so the child or the woman wont see him again
