I am saddened by what has happened to Jamie at the hands of Gabrielle Pier. It truly is sickening. Gabrielle was briefly employeed by my agency about 9 or 10 months ago for roughly 8-10 days. She was never alone with any of our individuals. While in training in a home she was to be assigned to, the individual whom receives from us stated that he did not want her as a care provider. He stated there was "just something about her." I'm so grateful that I listened to him, that she was not ever left alone with any of our individuals, and that I let her go.
People like Gabrielle usually prey on individuals that cannot speak. Whose to say who else she has hurt. It is such a difficult position we as agencies are in. We perform the checks, we do the training, we do follow ups, and still situations like this happen. All the best to Jamie, her mother, and family. Kindest Regards, Chantilla Boateng |
