That construction site is INSANE! There are cranes that come within inches of moving traffic. Literally, inches, you're driving past and all the sudden a crane is turning on it's base and looks like the BASE is going to hit you, much less the arm. Cars and trucks move suddenly to get out of it's way, others react to that. There should be another lane closed. It's like someone considered not impeding traffic at the expense of safety. I was going past yesterday and a friend was driving and I told her she needed to get into the far lane and slow way down, that it was crazy. I am so sorry for the family's loss. But this was no accident. This was negligence on the part of whoever decides how to provide safety guidance to these projects.

By the looks of the trucks trailer, the girl didn't slow down, and hit the trailer at full force. I feel so sorry for the young woman's family. Cars are speeding through these sites all the time. Slow Down People!!! I have no idea if a cell phone or text message was the reason, that's up to the Ohio Highway Patrol to decide.

I drive through there every day. Trust me when I say that traffic can be very erratic and the speed limit is not slow enough. There are cones IN THE LANE on the right side, and part of the lane just drops off. There are not two full lanes to drive through, but there are two lanes open. Then these cranes come at you from nowhere, people swerve; it wouldn't take texting or a phone call to cause an accident there; I've never seen anything like it...

How sad for this family. I agree, this construction zone is horrible - way too narrow and dangerous, even if you ARE following all of the good rules of driving.

How can anybody comment about the construction zone when the accident occurred 2 miles west of the construction site. The traffic hadn't even slowed in this area. The accident happened on the US 29 exit ramp (exit 80). Obviously she exited too fast and there was a truck on the ramp moving a lot slower. No matter the reason, it was pure and simple inattentive driving. Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends.

Duh Gee she hit him in the rear does it take a rocket scientist to figure out who was at fault. Oh yeah I forgot it was a 18 wheeler yeah blame it on the truck ! bet she was not paying attention.

INATTENTION was the cause. Could have been brought about by most anything except, attention to driving. Still a sad loss! PAY ATTENTION FOLKS!

Probably Texting AGAIN wrote: let me guess - 18 year old girl - addicted to a cell phone was texting. Wait to see what the police report says. My guess is she was on the phone or texting. When will they learn? You are a f***ing moron. My sympathy goes out to the family of the departed. I hate when this happens to such a young life.

Never tailgate a semi or larger vehicle that obstructs your view. These types of unwritten rules should be taught in driving schools to help save lives.

Yeh dont tailgate at all but especially not a large truck or something you cant see around. Truckers always complain about people passing them and slowing down as if the object is to always just pass a semi. Well Yeah! Its dangerous to follow a semi even if you arent tailgating. Its ridiculous to follow something you cant see around. Really they need to have separate roads for trucks. I bet the semi itself, not the driver, cause more car wrecks than anything else.

Also its ridiculous for any vehicle to have bumpers higher than whats safe for other cars. Semis now have a frame extending downward in the back but its still not enough to keep cars from going under and thats even if they hit the back middle. The sides and corners are still open and probably more cars go under those places anyway. Most people are going to rear end something in their life, usually as kids, and that shouldnt mean they have to die to learn.

Oh, I would dread that phone call as a parent. Very sad. I have to agree that this generation lives for texting and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that somehow it was unfortunately a factor. Not to take away from her death but I hope that this tragedy can be a teaching opportunity for young drivers on the importance of paying attention and to look down the road for potential hazzards and not just at the car directly in front of you. Please be safe out there and be aware of all that is around you.

for everyone who was wondering she was NOT texting and driving. this is not a poster child, she was a loved young woman who tragically and ACCIDENTLY lost her life, too soon. have some sympathy for those who really love and miss her. find something better to do than make judgements you know nothing about. get a life, don't belittle hers. i feel sorry for you.

Cars stop faster than semi's. You simply can't take your eyes off the road. We've all done it though. Very sad. I truly feel sorry for her family. It's just not fair.
