Just one of 1000 reasons:

Religious fanatics flying planes into buildings and murder lots of people.

LoL! Very funny that you had to look up why you care about religion as an athiest yourself and have someone else tell you why you care.

First off, the man who made that video is being hypocritical and contradicting throughout the entire video.

He complains that "In God We Trust" is on the penny. He doesn't want that to be on the penny because not everyone believes in God. That is asking people and our country to do the very thing he is complaining that the country is doing now. There is no difference in our country putting "In God We Trust" on the penny for those who believe and not putting it on the penny for those who do not believe.

This seems like nothing more than a childish battle of tug-o-war here. You don't want to have to see anything that has to do with the belief of God because you don't believe. You want it to be flip flopped because athiests exist. That is contradicting and hypocritical. A true athiest as I have said before does not care about religion. What this man is saying is that he cares about religion basically because he thinks it is causing people to be bad. That is not athieism. An actual athiest does not believe that something that does not exist can cause people to do bad things. It is like you are trying to say that without the belief of religion and God that there would be no violence and bad in the world. That is not true. Mankind create bad and evil all on their own. I promise you, mankind is very capable of doing bad without anyone else's help.

Why do atheists care about religion?

What Anti-theist said is a good start. "9-11" would not have happened without religion.

You call them religious fanatics, I call them evil people who just want to harm. The people who did that were already evil. They were taught evil by mankind, sadly the one teaching them these horrific things decided to use God to throw it off on. That's not God's fault. They were terrorist. They want you to believe it was Gods fault. Typical humans, can't take blame for anything. Must blame it on something or someone else.

An actual atheist does not believe that something that does not exist can cause people to do bad things. You are right. An actual atheist believes that the followers of that which does not exists can do bad things. See my above comment, about "9-11."

You said that atheists are "trying to say that without the belief of religion and God that there would be no violence and bad in the world." No. Most atheists I've known are not stupid enough to believe that having absolutely no religion in the world would magically make all the world's problems disappear. However, without religion, historically speaking especially (for example, "The Crusades"), there would be one less source of SOME of the world's problems. And if religion truly is the cure for the world's "evils," then why has it not already magically eradicated all the "evil" from the world?

Without "mankind" there would never have been airplanes or skyscrapers, so I suppose you are right about that.

But without religion, the fanatics who took over those planes and flew them into the skyscrapers would not have had reason to do so.

"He complains that "In God We Trust" is on the penny. He doesn't want that to be on the penny because not everyone believes in God." The main reason that "god" should not appear on our currency is the First Amendment. Go read it.

"There is no difference in our country putting "In God We Trust" on the penny for those who believe and not putting it on the penny for those who do not believe." Wow, you're confused. The government has no business telling us whether or not there is a god. The government is supposed to remain neutral on religion.

"A true athiest as I have said before does not care about religion." That's hard to do because everywhere you look, the parties of god are creating havoc.

"That is not athieism. An actual athiest does not believe that something that does not exist can cause people to do bad things." No shit? People who believe nonsense, like you, are often motivated to commit atrocities.

"It is like you are trying to say that without the belief of religion and God that there would be no violence and bad in the world." I've never seen an atheist make that claim. Religion, however, is the most effective tool for motivating otherwise good people to commit evil acts.

The hijackers were praising Allah as the planes hit. Without religion, there would have been no 9/11.

"The people who did that were already evil." They were brainwashed from birth, indoctrinated in a monotheistic religion similar to yours. Good people behave well and bad people commit evil, but for a good person to commit evil, that takes religion.

"Typical humans, can't take blame for anything." Ha ha, is that why you need a Christ to absolve you of your sins? Scapegoat!

Hahahaha... religion was not their only reason and excuse for doing those things. The main excuse that Bin Laden used was that he wanted to put our country in bankruptcy and make the people of our country suffer. He blamed us for making his people suffer. So even without religion he would have still blamed us for his suffering.

I use a video like you use a bible.

It showed lots of my concerns, I agreed with the vid. His ideas and feelings coincide with mine.

Your comment is foolish. You obviously have no response to the validity of the video. You know it tells the truth and you cant deal with it.

Typical christian.
The religious are losing. What a great time to be alive….to witness the down fall of the greatest lie ever told. Good riddance.

<quoted text>
If good people behave well and bad people commit evil then you can't have a good person commit evil. If a good person commits evil that clearly makes them a bad person. Even in your words. You just can't have good people and then good people who commit evil and then bad people who commit evil. You can only have one or the other. If a good person commit's evil that automatically makes them a bad person.

<quoted text>
I don't believe in God because I am a sinner. God is in me, that is why I believe in God.

Maybe you don't believe because you are too lazy to put the effort into it that God requires of you. You don't like anyone telling you how you should live. That is not truly not believing in God. That is just being against God.

"I don't believe in God because..." That's progress.

"God is in me" Pull him out and show us.

"Maybe you don't believe because you are too lazy to put the effort into it that God requires of you." You must be too lazy to believe in Allah for the same reason, huh?
