I think this covers it all. With a little compromise from both parties. From what I understand, I think they kept the "taxpayers support of abortion" out of it.

Response to Whitley...I'm happy for that part of it. Let's join forces. We understand it is a benefit to all working Americans. The top "elite" that have been given all the tax breaks in recent years now can give just a portion of that back. GREAT JOB in the House.

And, more particularly, those that even have good insurance, which they can keep, will be provided with that wonderful option of being covered for preexisting illnesses. Just that alone, given some horror stories I've heard, may in and of itself, keep them from losing their homes someday. It's then those might utter the words "thank you".

yes i guess a thank you is in order for the DEMOCRATS,for ramming down the throats a bill the majority of americans didn't want!

Turn out the lights, the competition`s over
The stubborn souls are the losers here tonight
And while the bridges burn
Another hard hard lesson`s learned
As in the ashes, our nation slowly dies
And this romance goes down to foolish pride.
yes i changed the word passion for our nation.

It t like in the good old days when congress actually had to work hard to get a bill through , Usually the harder they work stronger the bill is. Actually the majority of American want a health reform bill, There are some very good thing in this bill that will help people out .

you're right the majority of americans want health reform, I want health reform, but there were other ways of doing it instead of giving the government our lives for it.

and just so you know the majority of americans didn't want this bill passed.

We wanted healthcare reform....not a healthcare takeover....morons...there is a difference...and if anyone thinks the abortion language is going to survive the senate...they are niave....it will be taken out...but as I have said on another thread it has a long way to go....and it can still be stopped.....once the senate changes this massive 2000 page bill it will have to go through another vote in the house and then be modified again and back to the senate....trust me we are not worried about this votes...those dems that voted for this bill just lost their re election....having a public option crammed down our throats is not what americans wanted...and every poll has reflected that....1.2 trillion in new spending...what moron thinks we can afford that.....your only for it because your democrats...your not thinking of the bigger picture....no one in thier right mind would want to rob there children and grandchildren....no one in their right mind would want to live in a socialist country.....Kiss your dem congress members goodbye...they sealed their own fate...and were as happy as clowns at the circus for it.....

The only bipartisan part of this bill was the 39 democrats that voted NAY with with the republicans.......and the 1 republican that voted with the dems....everyone knows that guy is history anyways.....the dems are finished....and has handed the 2010 elections to the republicans....

Obama has stated "just conceptually, the notionn these insurance companies who say they're giving consumers the best possible deal, if they can't compete against a pulic plan as one otion, with consumers making the decision what's the best deal, that defies logic".

I suggest less precidence is to be placed on polls, given the fact that Congress/Senators typically vote in accordance with the will of the people they represent. That said, I would suspect it's more likely 50-50. I would also suspect that some polled might be ones that haven't even understood the most basic concept of healthcare reform.

Let's look at abit of a different aspect concerning the self-employed...those soley working under their SS# and not a FEIN#.

Let's say a wage earner buys the same health insurance policy that a self-employed person does. As long as that self-employed person does not maintain another job earning "wages" and offered a plan either through that channel, or, one via a spousal offering, he/she can write off 100% of the premium paid. A wage earner who is not covered by an employer does not have that same option.

There was a time when a wage earner could write off all medical, premiums or otherwise. Progressivley that area of deduction went to a 3% of AGI floor and under Reaganomics, increased to a 7 1/2% floor, deeming it literally impossible for a higher wage earner to deduct anything.(Reaganomics was when alot of deductions for middle class were eliminated, such as sales tax, personal loan interest, etc.) Thus, as a net result, the self-employed pay less for the same health insurance premium coverage than a wage earner.

Thank you. These people feel they have a monopoly on education, foresight and have the recipe to wipe out world hunger and it only has to cook for 10 months. They are advising us to wait for history to prove GWB, but they've given Obama 10 months to conquer the world. Do you find something wrong with that ratio?

poor misguided creature stick to sucking your lollipops.won't is will not put will not and your sentence sounds like this republicans never will not to help anyone, this is the reason we have Obama as president.
i don't normally correct people with misspelled words, typo's, or punctuation but, if you don't know the difference between will not and want, you need to go back to government school.

and yes republicans do want to help people.

1.) they want to let insurance companies go across state lines, meaning i just don't have to buy insurance in ky i could buy it where ever it was cheaper, why can't they do it now you may ask? because government says they can't.

2.) the republicans want to limit the high price lawyers and what they can sue for, one of the reasons health care cost so much now,

I'm not saying people shouldn't be able to sue the doctor or hospital if they mess up, but these multimillion dollar suits that the lawyers keep half of isn't helping anyone but the lawyers.

3.) just those two things there would make health insurance prices drop which more people could get covered, and guess what it wouldn't cost tax payers a dime.

we already have government health care it's called medicare do you know it's trillions of dollars in debt, and thats what the government wants to put us all on,here's another interesting fact more medicare claims have been denied than any other health insurance plan, you know the one that government says there will be less denied claims if we all went to a government plan.LMAO don't think so.we are so much in debt now and the bill that they passed is going to add another trillion dollars of debt on us. this is serious.
