I understand Officer Vincent Arias' predicament, especially with sentiment for a tasered autistic boy running high .

Ah, JBKennedy, your usual Noam Chomsky imitation in seeing nothing more in America other than an imperialistic behemoth hellbent on exploiting the rest of the world. Even with that view, you can't discern any difference between your favorite jihadists and us? Gravely unfunny.

Well, isn't that special: a special ed teacher who hates handicapped children.
This is why parents want school vouchers, to get away from these so-called teachers.

I dont disagree with Arias having used a Taser. Even though many people are upset by this, he has to use his discretion and do what he felt was appropriate. He only has a couple weapons to choose from, and clearly if he put a choke hold or a strike to the face, he would be in the same situation. I think the real problem is prevarication. The issue of tasers and children and especially handicapped children or going to be put on the back burner, as will the policys that allowed this to happen. Instead the focus will be on trying to prove the department was dishonest about the officer being kicked in the groin. They also likely will never admit the prevented the boys sister from taking care of the situation. Anybody who discusses the truth will be labeled a cop hater or worse. I disagree...When somebody handcuffs an officer, kicks him in the jaw hard enough to break it, then laughs and stand around high fives their buddies. ( gallows humor) only to then detain the officer for several hours before not helping them to get to the hospital, then you can say you have met a cop hater. That doesnt even scratch the surface of how this department treats people in this city who have committed no crime. Add to that malicious prosecution, and now were talking about just one evenings worth of fun. As far as Renee Descant saying high fives because we are glad we arent involved, thats not at all true, she was involved. She was an officer at the scene who witnessed this young man get his jaw kicked and broken. That makes her as involved as the others that observed and also planned to lie about it. If anyone cares to see what I am talking about search for Anthony Goodrow, and then you will see why the Hawthorne Police and City of will never care about this kid, or anybody else in this city for that matter. Yes they claim to have made changes, while never investigating or interviewing any officers involved. Its quite ironic for the department to call anybody anti police when the fact is no citizen has ever treated anybody at the department like they treat citizens...
