Nobody he went to kill threatened freedom in the US. He went there to kill and to take freedom away there, as part of a campaign to reduce freedom here.

You're a sad excuse for a human being. Even if you were right in why the government sent him there it has no bearing on why he went. It's the intent of the soldier that matters. If he went there to help, and defend America, if that was his motivation, then that's why he is really there, regardless of why he was sent there. If he voluntarily joined the service, then it is he who decided why he is there, the military just gave him the ways and the training to get there.

If you knew what you were talking about you would know that they now have more freedoms there, not less. Americans haven't taken away freedoms in Iraq. You really don't care if it's true or not, but if it fits your way of thinking you just blurt it out.

I knew SGT Salgado for the last 12-15 years of his life. I was shocked and saddened by the events of that day. As many of you have said; SGT Salgado was a very gentle person, with a good heart and nothing but good will for everyone. May he Rest In Peace.

War has all kinds of effects. This is juts another example. Sad for the guy, trying to do the right thing. PS-The "journalist" needs to learn how to write. She made a mistake but I see that a lot in this paper. Don't you have any proofreaders at the Dailey Bulletin?

More freedom in Iraq? Iraq has a foreign Army and Air Force killing patriots and other people at random. It also imprisons and tortures at random. And thanks to the war debt and the "Patriot" Act, freedom in the US is reduced, too.

Military defense is justifiable, but offense is simply mass murder. Veterans make lousy citizens, with some exceptions, because most have participated in mass murder in places like SE Asia and the Middle East. To justify what they did, they propagate the myth of just war. They are proud of the organizations that killed more US citizens than the militaries of all other nations combined, for the cause of stealing land.(War against Native Americans.) They are proud of the military that split in two because half of them thought mass slaughter to preserve slavery was justified.(RE Lee is still a hero at West Point.) They are proud of mass slaughter of civilians as a (counterproductive) strategy in WW2, even after the opponent could not fight back (as in the A-bombings). They are proud of the slaughter of several million in SE Asia because the US did not want a true democratic government in Vietnam, but a quisling government instead. They are proud of a "Cold War" that threatened the lives of every person on Earth as a response to potential Soviet aggression in Europe.(But, at least, they knew what IFFN meant; they don't anymore.) And they are proud of millions of dead in the Middle East so the US can place quisling governments there, too.(I could bring up the many other wars, too.)

It is long past time war veterans acted as responsible adults, instead of criminals justifying their actions.
