I Want to Know: Why is it trashy?

Full story: Port Lavaca Wave

Question: Why can't the county/city do more to make our Hwy 35 bypass more attractive and presentable? It is unkempt/unmowed and when it is mowed - it's trashy.

It takes a consorted effort by all passing thru our town to not throw trash from their vehicle as they drive along. My concerns are with the way the people of Rockport & Fulton treat their homeless animals!!!! Go to the Dog Pound off of business 35 and you will be shocked at how these two beautiful cities care for animals in need. I visited the site and was almost brought to tears. Caring caretakers working feverishly and quite overwhelmed with the task of keeping this ancient place clean and safe.

It is a very real problem to clean up the trash tossed out onto the roadsways. Are you aware of the program that allows you or your organization to receive recognition for volunteering to clean up a section of highway? Is that a State of Texas that prints the signs?

What we really need is for the county jail to receive recognition for the inmates cleaning up the trash. But of course, that ain't gonna happen. Do they even let folks on probation required to do community service clean up trash? Never seen it here myself.

Rockport as a tourist town - will get a bit more trash. Many who visit don't care as much about what they leave outside.

My neighborhood Bahia Bay - Palm Harbor is immaculate - even the lawns - except ours is the worst. Its mostly retired people.

There are other dog shelters in our county aside from the DOG POUND NEW you really are NEW. Go to Petfinders.com "looking for love" is one of them.

That is how they have handled it in Bandera County for years. The ones they brought in were drowned in cages in a old watering trough.
May God have mercy on them

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Scorpio

Your thoughts turn to the past today, putting you in a nostalgic mood. You're awash with sentimental tears as you dwell on days gone by or gaze at photos of people you'll never see again. However, try not to let this mood of reminiscence turn into a tendency to feel sorry for yourself and therefore to demand special treatment from others.
