TY. I appreciate the feedback. Because later on I intend to present this plan to Legislatures all over the USA (possibly "world"). And of course I usually rely on Internet Users to critique my ideas, since that is the only way I have ever found to TRULY get a very REAL and HONEST view of what people really think about something.

Of course at the moment, I'm knee-deep into a handful of other issues, the main one being Tobacco (Smoking Bans, Tobacco Taxation, etc.) Which I do have one that I was communicating to Lawmakers about, which the most recent version can be found here:

http://forumctx.topix.net/forum/health/smokin...

And needless to say, I always try to please everybody on both sides (of whichever issue it is) because that is simply the only way to be. If somebody is willing to sell out your neighbor, they will probably sell you out just the same!

Anyway and yes, the less Government Intervention the better (except in cases where such is seriously necissary), absolutlely! The people who set this country up, about 2 and a half centuries ago, did not set it up to be a "nanny state".

And yes I most certainly do appreciate the feedback on that. If anybody else has anything to say about it (good, bad, or indifferent), let 'er rip!

Why in the world do you think people from bad sections of town are going to take marta all the way up to the fringe of the suburbs to commit crime? As if someone is going to go all the way to Swanee, break into a car, steal a radio and then wait for the bus with said radio then wait for the train ,still with said radio in hand. and ride all the way down to the stadium section of town to pawn it. Mass Transit in Atlanta is inevitable. You can either come to the drawing board with people over it and just have a station with a park and ride without buses or it will be forced down everyone's throat. Most people who live in the metro area are not from Atlanta and i am confident that when the next round of voting goes through all the surrounding counties will fall in. By the way it will reach a point where economic development will stop if traffic continues to get worst.

Yeah that's true Why. And like I said before Gwinnett County needed it in the early 90's.

What I would love to see is a state-wide or even nation-wide Mass Transit System. I would love to see that.

Do I think it's gonna happen this decade? Probably not. I doubt very seriously that it will (I MIGHT believe it AFTER it happens, if it were to...) But uh... like I said... I would like to see that :)

But yeah running MARTA into Gwinnett will cut down on the unbearable traffic around the Mall Of Georgia area, and all around in there. And anybody who has ever driven in that area during peak times within the past few years, knows that is a very good thing!

It would be nice to be able to take the train from the Mall of GA to downtown. That only runs Mon-Fri for business commuters.

Excuse me....
But last time I checked,
homeless people don't ride on the bus.
Because they have no money for a place to live, let alone money to ride on the bus!!!!
And one last thing...
Public transportation WILL NOT BRING CRIME
to a neighborhood.
Remember the guy that shot all those people
in that Atlanta courthouse and kidnapped that woman in the own apartment...
He didn't take the bus....He stole a CAR!!!
WAKE UP, PEOPLE!!!!

My hole extended family on my fathers side still live in Suwanee.
There is a reason why my family has stayed in Suwanee for all these years. They don't have to lock the door's at night.
My grandmother and aunts don't have to worry about getting there purse snatched at the grocery store.
If MARTA came to Suwanee the crime rate would go up 80% in Suwanee.
Marta would bring homeless people that talk to them selves and ask for money.
look at what has happened to Doraville.
If you ride on Marta in Doraville what do you see out the windows? Graffiti all over buildings that back up to the MARTA lines.
I could go on and on why MARTA should not come to Suwanee.
It's just not a good idea to bring MARTA to suwanee.

Why would people think that crime would go up if marta came to gwinnett? Its stupid and ignorant to think that. Do thieves and robbers use marta as their getaway vehicle. In DC i heard that they added a rail system their and crime hasnt gone up. Its all this fear that people are afraid of. im a college student that has to commute to atlanta everyday i think that it would be a great addition for people who are in my situation. im using the gwinnett county transit buses but they are now just getting too expensive. Im sure by the time they ever build it ill be done but it would still be nice. Another way for those that are afraid of crime would be to put extra security in those stations.

I desire to raise my children in a protected environment. Right or wrong, I want a predominately white and English speaking area.
I don't think you will find an area that is predominately white any more. Have you been too Georgia lately??? Georgia has become a melting pot of people from all different cultures and countries. I WANT my children growing up around other cultures as it is preparing them for the "real" world.:) Those who don't adapt to change always get left behind. Times are changing and I think it is a good thing.
