It is 97 days so long as they do what they have to do. It works on a point system - if you mess up they "recycle you" and then it can add on more time - its hard from what i hear but the main point is to get there and maintain so they can get home in 97 days.

The first week is zero week and until they are out of reception its a phone call weekly.

It then reverts to one week a phone call the the next a visit. The day of the visit depends on the "house" that they are in.

Sadly hes been there since the 25 of August and we are getting our first visit this saturday.

i asked my honey to try to stay calm and just deal with whatever he is given so its just the 97 days. NYC wrote about it - if you google willard there is a report that was written on it by NYC Corrections Associates - the write up includes everything - including the workouts and such

Stay strong everyone!

I have someone that is very dear to me that is in Willard as we speak, and I can not begin to tell you just how aweful the treatment there is! They are treated like crap that is on the bottom of their shoes. I knew that they would be belittle the inmates, afterall it is military like, but I do not expect to do into a visit and have an officer call my dear friend, "fat butch",(not bitch, but butch.). They are there to be treated for there disability with drugs and alcohol, how is it that their supposed to accomplish this and become successful participents if they are never given the opportunity? Where are the true statistics of the individuals that have successfully completed this program within the 97 days? I am sure that I will have more to say in the near future. Thanks

Stop using drugs and get a job. Grow up and be an adult. The party is over .The harm you do to your self and others is why you are doing time.Dont complain about the program. You asked for it!Attention! As you were.

My fiance is coming home next month! Its been a long road and Willard has been an emotional rollercoaster for the both of us. As far as him having the alternative to going to prison for 2-4, it was a blessing to know he would be home a lot sooner. As far as the program... WOW! Every day he wakes up, not knowing whats to come or if he has a chance of being recycled. There is no time to rehab or concentrate on drug/alcohol treatment because you are being judged every second, concentrating on whats "the right thing to do" next. The DI's are hands on and will do whatever they feel is necessary to break you, although there are some that arent too bad. I went for a visit and one DI in the visit room really made me feel uncomfortable, yes my fiance is a true man, would defend himself to the end if he was in a real world environment, but they make you feel embarassed there and there is nothing you can do to defend yourself except pull up straight and take it all in. There is so much to say about this place, but not enough time to write it all down. Some advice for people going as an inmate, just do what ya gotta do... dont take everything too seriously, they like to see you laugh a little but be strong when they are being serious. Just follow the rules, participate, and keep a strong head on your shoulders with faith in your heart. As for the family/loved ones... its definately hard not being able to hear from them only every so often, seeing them twice a month, and getting a letter only when they have enough time to sit down and write (and theres barely any). Just remember, even though we have it tough out here, no matter what kind of situation (i have an 11 month old that i have been taking care of since he was 4 months, alone)... and our loved one has made their own decision to do whatever they did to put themself in the position they are in, they still need us by their side. Its a tough program, and as we have life and the outside world, they almost feel as if they have nothing except for the ones waiting for them at home. So keep in mind, however much we are hurting, they are probably hurting even worse. Good luck to you all...

listen to all you people out there you just dont have a clue its a strict program and is intended for criminals that want to better there lives other than go to prison to fight for your life and to look over your shoulder every second of the day and yes even in your sleep ive been there (prison for 7 years and willard )so i know what im talking about for the ones that will write these stupid little comments about how they treat people well you or your family members has a choice wether to go and do the program or not and well all have choices wether we want to break the law whould you rather plan a welcome home party for your loved ones or a funneral so please stop and look at the big picture and stop bitching

wow 3 times at willard? its going to be tough there - from what i hear they get more tough on you if you repeat the program but God Bless and good luck!!

As for another post I just read above....Yes, simple - but Willard is not only about new charges - more than half are parole violators and some people who have been violated for as little as staying out late. You never really know the situation someone is in until you are living it.

now if u are reading this u must know someone that had to do willard right?

Take care people and stay strong!

While my hubby was there he said one person does the mail at a time - so he would get 2 and 3 letters at once sometimes a week late.

Sagittarius

People around you may be insistent in their demands and they seem unreasonable, which in turn will lead to mental tension for you. There is the danger that this will dull your resolve, but the real path still lies ahead, beyond these temporary hurdles. Don't take this as a setback: there's no need to change your course of action.
