Saturday, April 7, 2012 Libertarian Republican county councilman in Erie, PA fighting liberals, environmentalists and the IRS ,and he wants the poor people to pay taxes.Like all Republican.
From Eric Dondero: Ebert Beeman is an elected Libertarian in northwestern Pennsylvania. He's been battling liberal Democrats and special interests-tied Republicans in Erie for years. The latest from GoErie.com "Erie County Councilman Beeman upset over reassessment": Erie County Councilman Ebert Beeman, who is fighting the Internal Revenue Service in federal court, does not have kind words for Erie County's reassessment and the higher property taxes it might mean for him. Beeman said he will challenge the new values the county Assessment Bureau placed on at least one of his properties, which are in Waterford. "I haven't heard anyone say they support it," Beeman said of reassessment. "I'm sure there are some out there, but they haven't contacted me." Beeman, a Republican with libertarian views, does not control his properties, though he still holds title to them. The IRS has seized the properties and is waiting for a final court ruling to auction them. The IRS is trying to collect what it claims are $2.1 million in delinquent income taxes from Beeman. He contends the amount is $111,475. Photo credit - ErieTVNews.com |
