I live in North Livermore and our water is very hard, not smelly though. I would not drink the water, however. I only shower/brush teeth. I use a water filter or buy my water. In fact, I have never drank the water in California. I moved here from the Mid West where we drank from the tap. I thought it was so weird when I moved to California and saw that people bought their water, had it delivered to their homes every week. Now,I can't believe people drink out of the faucet......go figure.

Allergic to water, Costco has great water filters you install in your sink. That is the only way I will drink Livermore water. Also the brita system is pretty good too. Much cheaper then overpriced bottled water. Glad you figured out what was causing your cough. Long live the neti pot.

OhbOy I agree completely. People around the US think Californians are snobs because we drink bottled water. They just haven't tasted the crap for themselves. And we have to pay for the stuff! Talk to east coasters and europeans and they are shocked that we have a monthly water bill.

"A lot of people are allergic to fluoride. That is why they do not put it in the water. At least that is what the water guy told me."---person I lived in NY for many years as a kid and we had fluoride in our water. if a big city like ny can fluoridate their entire water system and not worry about people with allergies, then there should be no reason Livermore can't do it too.

Livermore maybe has enough scientists to be a force against fluoridation, because they can evaluate the science and realize its a bad idea. Fluoride is toxic to teeth and bones and does more harm than good.

I 100% disagree with you anon. With the fluoridated water in the Bronx and regular dentist visits with fuuoride treatments, I have had way fewer cavities than most anyone I knew growing up or now as an adult. And my cavities came after i moved from NY and began brushing/drinking/using any water intake from Livermore. And if Fluoride was so toxic, then why would soooo many dentists use it and it be in so many toothpastes? hmmm?????

I love Livermore, and hate it's water it smells like bleach and taste horrible. Hayward has better water, and that's sad cause our town is way more preppy. :)

I think the water tastes and smells like dirt, I have lived in three different areas of Livermore and it's the same each place.

I live by Granada Hi. Our water tastes like it came out of a gutter. It has a highly industrial stench. This started about 4 months ago. Before that, I could drink the tap water, straight out of the faucet, with no filtration. I can't even cook with it. And my clothes smell bad after washing. Our pipes are about 2 years old, in copper. I have not called the water company as yet. I hate talking to large companies. They always talk down to me, as if I am a dumbass computer gone terribly wrong. Then I get pissed. So I try to not have anything to do with them. Oh, the person moaning about not having Flouride in our water. Be ever so glad. Flouride is a poison discovered by the Nazis, to make the people lethargic, and march off to the Gas chambers, without a fight.

Yep. our water is crap. I went to the dermatologist and he told me I was allergic to the water and to stop bathing. LOL since I cannot do that he told me to "move" and thats out of the question too. So I am stuck with this nasty tasting water that is also terrible for my skin. I cannot believe our water is so terrible.
