No it is not a mistake he tricked my family out of our life savings and our jobs and left us hanging in this bad economy.

Don't help him, help us the ones who he took our money from and then he disappeared for a month and rejected everyone's calls while he was spending all our money.

Weldon has spent his entire life serving the community of Livermore. Whatever he has done was unintentional. He always wanted to do the best he could for those he knew. For the victims of this I know he is truly sorry. The news and police have made it sound as though Weldon planned on robbing people of their life savings. That is not the case. WE are all hurt by the current economy. He had no way of knowing that any of this was going to happen until it was too late. For those of you who really know Weldon, you know that he always tried to do the right thing and live a straight and narrow life. His only crime was that he was too proud to admit things had gone wrong.

You are wrong. If you look at his financial transactions over the past months. IT WAS INTENTIONAL, AND IT WAS ON PURPOSE. Weldon fooled a lot of people. He was a great person for the community on someone else's dime.

my mother trusted weldson. he took all her life savings. it was INTENTIONAL. i only feel sorry for his family, mostly his son. weldon is where he belongs...behind bars and away from any chance to scam more innocent victims so he can spend $30k a month on his own lifestyle.

I understand the frustration of the victims in this case. I still believe it was not intentional. Weldon is a good man no matter what the news is reporting. You are all wrong if you believe he was living a lavish lifestyle of over $30K a month. The stories on the news are inaccurate. Whether you believe it or not...Weldon is a victim too. It's best to hold judgement till after you know the whole story.

Your right the stories are wrong there is not just 6 people involved it is over 20 families he ripped off and took their money.(some are even related to him) He also drove people into great depression (causing one person I know of to go to the hospital since he trusted him for nearly 20 years) and cause many people who worked for him to lose their jobs when he failed to return to work as the boss for an entire month and left his workers holding the bills. The report is also wrong saying that it is only $700,000 thousand because as far as investigations go it is well over 2 million. $700,000 isn't even the amount that he tricked my family out of and left us with nothing. It is also wrong in calling it an investment with him because it was a contracted note which means he is obligated to pay back with interest no matter what. I feel sorry for his son to have to endure this. But it is quite obvious this was intentional since he removed himself from all his community activities over the past year and sold off his business and he is underwater on most of his properties. (if he wasn't planning anything then he would have paid off his properties) This was well planned but not well executed. HE DOES DESERVE TO BE BEHIND BARS AND I HOPE HE IS CHARGED ON ALL THESE ACCOUNTS AND THE ADDITIONAL ONES THAT THE NEWSPAPER DID NOT EVEN MENTION such as the tax fraud which he committed with numerous companies in large sums of money. (as well as all counts of pain and suffering, tax evasion, misuse of licensing, and false practice under his CPA license, all of these counts that were not mentioned are proven and real) He may have not intended to be a criminal a long time ago, but it is clear what he is right now.

Straight and narrow? Then why was he arrested in the hospital for drug and alcohol rehab? That sounds like a shifty road to me? The economy is bad but not everyone resorts to being a criminal. People should not take what does not belong to them. It seems he was too down from drug and alcohol abuse to even care about the community anymore. If I was a criminal I would want you on my side too. Pillar of the community? I sure hope not, cause then the roof will come crashing down. I am embarrassed for you giving out your name. I'm sure he was arrested strictly based on assumptions and 0 facts to backup the arrest warrant. As a victim of financial FRAUD I say throw the book at him and let him be a pillar of the community in Santa Rita.

I agree he should become a pillar in the community in Santa Rita. But he was arrested based on all facts and evidence he carelessly left with his clients that incriminated him. He also cleaned out all his bank accounts even the one's which contained the peoples money that he had, and so far the police have not released where he deposited the funds. All the police said was that he was commingling all the money together and not keeping any record of any of it. I just wish the newspaper would get all the facts before publishing their articles, but I am sure it is because the police did not want to release all the facts. I think everyone should slow down, reserve judgement, and let the facts come out. There's no sense in getting too far ahead of the process.

If this is truly NOT a mistake, he must have some how snapped - We'll have to wait and see - but no, I'm not embarrassed because I put down my name... why would I? I don't have anything to hide - I didn't do anything wrong.

That is the most level headed answer yet. The facts are not all out. They will be in time, but this will be a long process. Reserving judgement is the best thing to do. Thank you for your comment.

Some of these comments are reflective of what is wrong with our country. "I have known him along time. He would never do such a thing." We cannot KNOW what a person is capable of, because we do not know what is in their heart. Mafia leaders give lots of money to the Catholic church and Children's Hospitals. It helps ease the guilt of all the immoral life they live. Maybe that is why we have seen Weldon involved in everything community. Easing the guilt ? Great way to meet wealthy victims too. I am all about standing by our friends through their trials and tribulations....maybe this is a time to really look at who you choose to be friends with. I have known him for many years too and upstanding ??? I guess I have a different definition. If you knew him, you knew what a sleeze he was with women both when married and divorcing. If you knew him...you know that his drinking has been constant for years. Lots of fun Military stories and jokes, so does that make him a great guy and incapable of ruining our community families financially ?

Goes to prove that you can't trust anyone these days...Even if he/she seems honest. It's sad that we always have to doubt, but better safe than sorry.

Very sorry to all......... I had not invested with Weldon but feel horrible to all who may have lost money. As well as for Weldon.... I never knew Weldon to be a greedy person, And can only hope there may be some rational explanation why he may have gone down this road. regardless of the alleged theft, Weldon did give his time to the military, the community and his friendships. I am not naive, I say alleged until the facts and time frames are made public. I will pray for him and his family.

What happens now to his victims who have lost everything because they trusted this man with all they had? How do they pick up the pieces and move on? I hope he rots in the prison he is in because he has put all these people in prison too. He has taken money from his own flesh and blood and money from whole families who have trusted his friendship for many, many years. He needs to make resitution now to all of them. He needs to face his victims and so he can feel the pain and suffering he has brought upon all of them. How do they move on losing everything especially with the ecomony the way it is today. He has lost everything and he deserves to sit in prison each day dealing with what he has done to people who trusted him and called him friend. What friend would stab his friend in the back. I am sorry this happened to everyone this has happened to.
