Talk about wasted...0.31... he was practically comatose while behind the wheel. It is a good thing that the witness who had the right away at the light who heard him coming did not proceed or they would have been killed also and an innocent family would be grieving as well as the parents of this teen.

Now they need to proceed with prosecuting the provider of the alcohol at the party. There were several underage kids there all drinking and someone bought the alcohol. Lock them up tight and prosecute them as an adult even if they were underage.
It seems many people know what happened and it has been said parents where there but Livermore pd can't seem to get the job done. Those parents (not davids) provided a place and the alcohol to underage kids. It is said they do it every weekend. Why are they not in jail do more kids need to die?

<quoted text>Apparently there was an altercation after someone took the keys away... the friend "Gave them back" to avoid an altercation which seems to have been a pattern with this young man - get wasted, friends step in, drunk wants to fight. Unfortunately, this time the friends didn't intervene.
If you knew him you would know that is not true. He was not a bad kid, he was not always drunk and looking to fight. It is being said the parents told the kids they where ok to drive and gave all the keys back to the kids. If the people who know the real truth would step up and talk it would make a difference for the future. Parents have to stop giving these kids alcohol. What gave that parent the right to proved to the kids? They need to pay for their part in this tragedy.

They said it before - and they will say it again - now that its confirmed he had a BAC of .31, or almost 4X the "legal" limit. NOTE that the legal limit for someone under 21 is actually ZERO.

End of story. Goodbye to the Dick that Drank. thank god he only killed himself and did not hurt anyone else.

Suicide or just plain drunk driving - he got waht he wanted or deserved.
I pray to god you never have to put your child to rest in peace. It was NOT wanted it was NOT deserved!!!!! It was a mistake. You clearly are a heartless jerk. He was a teenager at a party and a trusted adult gave him alcohol and said it was ok to drink, they let him leave a party drunk and he deserved this?!?!? At that level he was not making a clear decision about being safe. At that age they think they know it all buy as an adult we know they don't. All kids think it will never happen to them that they are invincible. You didn't know him or anything about him. You only know what you read on this page. David was a beautiful young man with a future and a beautiful family that loves him. Please stop posting such ugly stuff about someone you don't know and is truly a loss to no longer have in our life.

I would suggest that you contact LPD and hand over David's cell phone and computer. Chances are that his technology will lead you directly to the root of this issue. There has been a death resulting from a crime [providing alcohol to a minor]. David's technology is the evidence....

Secondly - I agree that no parent wants to bury their child and we all do stupid things while growing up because we think that we are superhero's. BUT if you think a kid with a .30+ DAC who was able to walk to the car and function enough to drive AT ALL was inexperienced at drinking and/or doing drugs YOU are in some weird ass denial if there ever was.

FYI from http://www.intheknowzone.com/substance-abuse-...

BAC .25-.30
Drinkers display general inertia, near total loss of motor functions, little response to stimuli, inability to stand or walk, vomiting, and incontinence. Drinkers may lose consciousness or fall into a stupor.

BAC .30-.50
Symptoms are complete unconsciousness, depressed or absent reflexes, subnormal body temperature, incontinence, and impairment of circulation and respiration.

Death may occur at .37% or higher. BACs of .45% and higher are fatal to nearly all individuals.

JRC I agree with everything you have said, however let me correct you on one little thing: The Every 15 min program is presented to the Juniors and Seniors every two years and so this young man did not have the opportunity to see it yet. They present it in May before the end of the school year so it will be presented in May of 2012. He would have been a Sophomore the last time it was presented at the school and he was not old enough yet.

I thought he graduated this last june?

Those idiots who know what happened need to step up and tell the police, and those idiots criticizing LPD without the facts need to shut up until they know the truth. Go back to watching your Hollywood Housewifes and Kardashian trash.

I'm not bashing LPD I like our PD. the officers are great. But in this case they said he chose to drive so it's his fault case closed. That came from a Livermore officer. Most kids are now being quiet my guess they don't want to loose a party house. Some are talking on patch but I guess that is not enough. One girl posted that a parent was there and supplied the drinks and gave the keys back. Who knows if that is all true or not but they could at least go check it out. The rest if the kids are still going there and drinking and driving away. Putting more lives at risk. Drinkers and innocents.

Like I said earlier - take David's technology to the PD and hand it over for so that the LPD can conduct an investigation. I'd bet that there are text messages on his cell and/or information on his computer that will lead directly to the source. David's technology is a 'clue' in the crime [alcohol to kids] which lead to his death.

You can't expect anyone to come forward... not in today's world. People look out for themselves and certainly someone out there is afraid to get the $hit sued out of them.

Quit waiting and complaining... Don't say how unjust things are and whine that you miss this kid so much. Get off your A$$ and get justice for this kid.

I am a neighbor of David's family. I had met David at his cousin's birthday party and he seemed like a really good kid, he was smiling and was really happy.

Sometimes kids make bad choices when they are young, mostly due to peer pressure. I just hope that his friends are thinking about that night and it helps them realize just how precious their lives really are.
