Does anyone know of a private doc who will help my daughter get off lortabs? In-patient rehab is out of the question since she has 4 small children to care for. She is not your average street junkie, so please spare the smart comments. She holds down a job, cares for her family - but has become addicted to lortabs from a physician. She tried talking to him and he suggested just 'quitting". She tried and could not hold down her job and family duties and go through the horrible withdrawals. I am amazed at the lack of help there is in an area this size for someone who genuinely wants help. Suboxone and methadone are out of the question - they are narcotics also. Any help - genuine help - would be appreciated.

Not an easy thing to do on your own. I lived in Killen a large part of my life, not many Dr's. that will try to help. I can say this much, try the weaning off. Cut the dose 1/4 for a few days then 1/2 for a few days, and so on, pray for help for her and your self. Ask about counseling, call the health dept, see what they can tell you. I hope and pray that you find the help she needs.

I think first the question that must be addressed is IF your daughter is in fact tired of living the life she has been living addicted to the narcotics. Have the consequences became great enough to get her attention. I ask because it took me almost 12 years to become miserable enough with my life to change it. As far as Dr's most are uneducated on the topic. Treatment facilities are great providing a person seriously has an inner desire to change. Please understand i am only being honest.

Your daughter can be detox on a outpatient basis. It is a 4 week detox she will see a nurse most days and doctor once a week. Insurance will not pay for it it runs $1050.00 but after the 4 weeks she will be clean. If you want more info just let me know?
