1 As for approaching Mr. Floyd in a courtroom bathroom to elicit an interview, please read the full account of what happened. He approached me, not the other way around. If after reading the book you would like to expound and criticize my work, please feel free. It is your right as the reader. But please don't make assumptions about a book you have not read. Sincerely, Casey Sherman Bestselling author of The Finest Hours, A Rose for Mary: The Hunt for the Real Boston Strangler, Bad Blood, Black Irish and Black Dragon. |

1 Mr. Sherman (if you are indeed Mr. Sherman which I doubt) what I have seen so far is anything but fair and balanced. I gave you the benefit of the doubt because of a mutual "friend" we have a MA Rep. whom I grew up and went to school with. You have made numerous innuendos about Gregory W. Floyd without any professional medical or psychiatric schooling or degrees to qualify you to make such statements. You have taken sides in my opinion, you stated Mr. Floyd robbed Liko Kenney, and the community of Franconia a fair trial, that is your assertion you were very definative about that point. I've never stated I like Gregory W. floyd I don't even know the man, but he had more courage and balls than most people to do what he did, and you and Mr. King have tried to condemn him for that. Until you have personally been involved in a similar situation you have no right to pass judgement on anyone elses actions. As far as any accounts in regard to any interviews with Mr. Floyd I am going by what your spokesman Christopher King (unauthorized or authorized) is publishing. If you have a problem about that, I suggest you take it up with him not me. As far as your book I will be damned if I will help you profit off the murder of a police officer. Have a good day sir. Regards, Bill Christy |

1 Without Greg Floyd, it seems there would be more answers and less, guessing, perhaps that is what Mr Sherman is trying to state. There will never be any closure because of his actions, heroic or otherwise. The topics and content in this forum is proof of that. |

The dashcam video shows the events of that day without bias. NHRSA clearly states if you murder a police officer it's the death penalty. Had Gregory Floyd not done what he did, I believe Liko Kenney would not have given up peacefully and a) other officers would have died, and he would have been shot and killed or b) he would have killed himself. Either way it would have been the same outcome. |

2 Now you're writing fiction. Do you have any professional degrees or background to back up these claims, or are you just putting your spin on it? You question Casey Sherman's assertions then come up with an equally unfounded scenerio? You can't have it both ways. I've got one too. Floyd does not intervene, Liko never hits Mckay and finds his way to Tamarack, and the police apprehend him there. Mckay lives because precious moments are saved by not having to remove a vehicle off him. We all live happily ever after. Plausible. |

I think George Orwell said it best, "Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night
because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." |

1 Never claimed to have any degrees in psychology, irregardless Liko did write in his diary "the end is near my final days" or something to that effect. It is very plausible to ascertain that he knew what was going to happen, just like when he told someone he would handle McKay himself (that could easily substantiate a premeditation arguement on Liko Kenney's part) Have you ever read the autopsy report, the 4 gunshots were all fatal. The fact stands Liko Kenney ran over Cpl. McKay prior to Gregory Floyds actions. I will live happily the outcome of this case does not affect my life other than my opinions which I post here, many which are based on professional knowledge. You are but one of the many who refuses to put blame where blame belongs on the shoulders of Liko Kenney, no one else pulled the trigger of his gun. |

2 Sam...absolutely I like Jack Nicholson's portrayal as well: We live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that __________ death, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall -- you need me on that wall. We use words like "honor," "code," "loyalty." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand the post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to! |

2 "My last days" refers to the fact his parents were returning to Easton, there was no mention of the "end is near" as you dramtically want to portray. I don't think it was a diary, IIRC it was a day planner. Mckay was alive when tranported to LRH. The gunshots were fatal, but whos to say they had to be? The coroner is basing the cause of death on the facts that are, not might have been. Remember Sugar Hill Police were on the way and were first on scene. They had to deal with talking Floyd into putting his guns down BEFORE anyone could approach McKay. Yep, some hero. My reading indicates that McKay was not run over until AFTER Floyd shot at liko's vehicle, so says 2 witnesses. Yes Liko killed Mckay he was wrong and a troubled young man needing help. Mckay was twice his age with all the power, training, and knowledge in his favor, yet he chose to escalate the situation AND put himself in clear and present danger, something Mr Sherman asserts as well. 3 been a "book review" as such. I usually go to the library .....if they don't have it, they get it for me. I mean, has there been a book review published somewhere...and I missed it? This thread doesn't give any reference(s). I would like to read it, but won't spend the money. |

1 Apparently you are reading challenged I said or "something to that effect". Apparently you are an "insider" who has information that none of the original collective were privy to. I had spoke to Liko's aunt Debby a number of times via emails and on the phone, NEVER once was it stated that the words meant Liko's parents were coming home. You want to argue semantics about whether it was a diary or day planner, same difference to mem and I've been using a dayplanner/diary for over 40 years. FATAL gunshot wounds what part don't you get about that or perhaps you were present during the autopsy and are a medial doctor who knows more than the NH medical examiner. Gunshot wounds to the torso ie: kidneys, liver, spleen, stomach, lungs, any one organ hit with a .45 cal is usually a mortal wound. Blood coming out "in spurts" is a major artery that has been hit. Now add in being run over by the car not once but twice doing more damage compressing the torso and the organs. Put the blame where it lies on Liko Kenney not someone you are just looking to blame. It's amazing how many people come out of the woodwork with similar writing styles using new names, all using aliases. McKay escalated the situation, interesting he was doing his duty as an officer try to stop a FELON, you DO understand fleeing a police officer in NH and most other states is a FELONY offense. If McKay wanted to escalate the situation he would have approached the car with his gun drawn as most officers do during a FELONY stop/apprehension. McKay instead chose a NON LETHAL means OC spray to try and subdue Liko Kenney. Liko Kenney was 24 years old and he knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he drew his CONCEALED weapon and began shooting and Cpl McKay. Plenty of young men and women are stopped on a daily basis by officers older than them, so what. I have grandchildren who know you don't point a firearm at anyone or anything unless you intend to shoot. As far as Floyd I'd take him along side me over the majority of you die hard liberals who want to somehow justify a police officer being murdered. At least he's not a coward iding behind numerous alais posting names like you use. Military hoo-rahs via Hollywood? Tell us how many years did you serve your country? My sense is you are one of the people in this country who sit back and enjoy all the freedoms this country offers while passing judgement and in some instances condemning those who did and do the dirty work to protect your rights and freedoms. |

Yes there have been a number of reviews, there are several other threads in the Franconia forum, all basically say the same thing nothing new has come to light and there are still more unanswered questions than not. |

1 George Orwell has nothing to do with Hollywood, and you should be able to wrap your mind around his type of liberal views. But, Jack Nicholson's quote is very apt. You sit back in your comfortable recliner while men and women are living in extreme hardship to protect your freedom. When these bad men come knocking on your door will you have enough intestinal fortitude to protect you rights or will you rely on others. And you pass judgment on acts that you view too coarse for civilized conversations. You have no basis for your opinion. Rough men are required because we live in a rough world and some people only understand violence. |

1 time, and the antics of a clown, have flatlined any appeal to revisit and/or justify Liko's actions. two men cannot be brought back to life by the efforts of an ex-suspended lawyer; nor can judgments after the fact alter those circumstances. actually, John Sedgwick's concise and timely article appearing in Boston Magazine as "Collision Course" was, IMO, the brightest and most accurate telling to date. i regret having given away all of my copies. http://www.bostonmagazine.com/articles/collis... |

i continue to admire the candor, courage, reflection and approachability of Bill Kenney under very complicated and emotion-laden circumstances. he has provided personal, direct insight into the culture of his family and the sad ending to his newphew's life, and the life of a police officer.
