Mail Identity theft is a serious and growing problem, and unfortunately... most criminals are not caught, and those who are go under-punished and are out in no time to defraud people again.

The BEST defense is Prevention. Homeowners should:
(1) Secure their mail with a high-security locking mailbox like the Mail Boss - they can be found at your local Ace Hardware. Most locking mailboxes are pretty low security so it's important to get a high-quality pry-proof security mailbox.
(2) Never send checks or sensitive documents from a non-secure mailbox. Take it to the post office or a secure Blue USPS Box
(3) Shred all sensitive documents (most come from your unlocked mailbox!!!) before discarding.

That's it. Secure your INCOMING MAIL with a high-security locking mailbox. Secure your OUTGOING mail by being vigilant about using Blue USPS Box. Secure your mail before you discard it with a cross-cut paper shredder.

This will significantly protect you from mail-identity theft.

I couldn't decide which comment of yours was stupider, so I picked this one. Of course the illegals are stealing- and yes, our governor kisses their butts, as do all politicians. You can't excuse the whites who provide to the willing identify thieves, either, but you are an ignorant bigot, dude.

I'm sure that illegals are responsible for some I'd theft, but you may be surprised.. The majority of mail identity theft appears to be committed by white methamphetamine addicts.. It's the nature of the high, apparently- allowing them to do tedious painstaking tasks like sifting through mail, as well as the appeal of the quick-money fix to buy their next high, and the low-risk crime.. Mail thieves rarely do jail time!

i know one of the ladys in this group of people she got her shit together and started to see her kids again after a year i dont think they shouldnt get jail time but the ones that are doing good in there life and are off the meth need to be let go shes a very good mom to her kid and they miss her so much and want there mom to come home i love her kids dearly and cant stand to see them hurt everyday people do stupid stuff when they are high on meth but now she stopped and knows she did wrong to all those people so i would like if you dont talk bad her oldiest goes online and see everything you guys say bad about her mom
