Just wondering, how much money does nurses make in Arkansas? I know it can vary from place to place and based on experience. But just wondering a ball park figure? For an RN?

thanks

I made 35$ hr in little rock but that was as a travel nurse. Direct hires make around 17-20$ starting off, it also depends on experience. More experience = more $$$. Also if you specialize you make more, i.e. ICU, CCU, ER.

New grads make a range of $19-22 in LR for base day shift, shift differentials and weekends add significantly to this. If you work a PRN option, or WEO with no benefits you can also make significantly more. Pay increases about 3% each year for experience, in general, for staff nurse positions.

I suggest you fast track to RN asap. Just 3 semesters if you have your basics and you can make 4x's the money.

I am an LPN Case Manager, PSN and was with a hospital for 3 years and at my current job 7 years. I currently work for the state and make $32.00. State rate for LPN III and RN III is the same.

I am a SAC, LPN for Baptist NLR and have been here for 3 years. I started out here as a new grad and my starting pay 3 years ago was $19.00. I am currently at $22.00. Required call is one day a week and one weekend a month. Double time if you get called in, $44 an hour, and a flat rate of $250 a day to hold the pager. Unless you are going to specialize, in Arkansas there is not much pay difference in LPN vs RN. In Arkansas LPN's can hang blood, hang chemo, give IV sedation under an MD supervision.

Wow when did baptist start paying there LPN's that much? Are you in house agency? At baptist an LPN usaully starts at 12-14 an hour depending on years of experience and the yearly increase is 25-60 cents. Heard from several coworkers they were the lowest paying hospital out there. I have worked as a CNA, LPN and RN and there is a HUGE difference in pay. The state lady must have a ton of experience under her belt, not sure her situation. Also according to the arkansas state board of nursing only a RN can safely and legally administer blood, chemo etc. and perform a complete head to toe assessment. I can administer chemo and IV sedation but this was only allowed after taking the chemo course, and becoming chemo certified, basic critical care course and several other cardiovascular and pulmonary modules as a RN. Did you do that as an LPN at baptist? Not sure what their policies are at BMC but your definetly outside your scope of practice.

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Virgo

You're in a very sensitive frame of mind today and are acutely aware of what other people are going through. So if someone is having a bad time, you'll want to do what you can to help. However, it's important to accept that you may not be able to do a single thing. If you persist in trying to help, it will be because you're uncomfortable with the situation and want to feel better.
