Yes they are former union employees, most of them from AFSCME. Deals were made by a democrat majority that didn't make sense then, and make no sense now. Retiring after 20-30 years, making nearly as much as you made when you were working? Does not happen in the real world. I believe their contracts can be re-negotiated just like the contracts for current union members.

Live up to the contract--or face the same situation when YOU retire. They cut your benefits 'after the fact' because they don't want to pay.

They CAN'T pay because they don't have the money that was "promised" to them as a result of extortion. Shred the contract and cancel the pensions altogether.

Legal contracts are not extortion. So, companies should also refuse to pay amounts allegedly due to execs because they are also extortion--right? Execs ARE "employees"--right? Make up your mind and let us know when corp execs ALSO get their retirement benefits and pensions cut "after the fact".

We are NOT talking about execs, but the union employees who are fleecing taxpayers. Extortion was the tactic used to get the contract signed.

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Virgo

Life catches you unawares today but for once you don't really mind. A friend is likely to ring up with an exciting suggestion or you could receive a spur of the moment invitation that's too good to refuse. An interesting encounter is also on the cards, especially when you're brought together through unusual circumstances.
