One way to measure you local governments commitment to the youth, the community and the future is to just watch actions, arguments and compare it to successful communities elsewhere. The only one's believing they deserve more money from the community, larger budgets, stricter penalties are those directly impacted by the budgets. We have the highest police payroll, highest teacher payroll and strictest road, community, drug and tax movement policy's of any similar sized town in the state and possibly New England.

Towns focused on the people do not focus on the largest employer in a town being the government, they focus on education and community growth.

Of the 4,500 family's in my town in California, we had 6 police and 4 town workers in the office and a small public works. Everything else was contracted out based on the budget. The town was rich because the town owned a Horse center, Golf course and many public facilities that brought in money. That is a community. We live in a Dictatorship controlled by the Police and some elders whom are hungry for Power in Lisbon Maine.
