All Hat and No Cattle.

Yep, "could" is the key word here. Heard this all before Texas Boy. Time for you to find a different watering hole. Our well is dry in case you havent heard. And our taxes need to stay right here at home in NM where they belong - buckerooo.

Run! Run for your Lives! Find a nice little place in Utah to set up shop and not have to deal with our next City President, El Marti...

I don't have a problem with tax breaks as long as they are tied to the performance of the company. For example they say they are going to hire "x" number of employees in the first year. If they do that then they get a portion of the break if not then no tax break. Make the company deliver on its promise/s before we give them anything.

As we saw with the General Mills IRB's...we give millions in tax breaks for what? Sixty jobs...that's all folks. Way out of balance here.

WHY do with do this without guarantees from the company that they will hire ALL IN STATE workers, from the design and engineering teams to the CEO's and daily workers!!

IF we are to give these bonds away, our Economic Development folks should insist that they comply with only in state employment. Period.

Same old tired story. "High-tech company comes to New Mexico after being given tax break incentives, hires hundreds of employees, then goes bankrupt within 5 years." Yawn.

I couldn't agree more with your comments. We spent many hours and weekends putting a bid together. The rumor is the General Contractor is out of Louisiana and the Electrical contractor is from Iowa. How about a 5% resident contractor preference? These guys come in here, low ball the estiamtes, and then fight and scrap for every change order they can get to make it up.

Come on in we need the jobs and businesses. Don't let these whiners bother you, they'd complain if you hung them with a new rope. They complain when companies cloase, they complain when companies open.

Whomever is in charge of giving the tax breaks need to verify that these outfits are"nt fly-by-night companies like that airplane company that recieved all that money from the state and then folded.

Watch out for these outfits from Texass. They got our water by getting some of their people in Santa Fe and now they want some land(more)and money.Get some solid guarantees up front and like my grandpa used to say ,don"t trade horses at night, because that black horse the next day is grayer than Moses.

Solar companies are doing great here in NM, just ask Advent Solar. Oh wait- they left too.
Didn't do them any good that their top technical guy was a total doosh from France. What a jerk that guy was.
