Hey all, this guy is a cheat and a liar. He owes his employees money and refuses to pay them, he told them to sue him. He is a crook. And bands, if he doesn't pay them...he might not pay you. So stand up and don't play there! Don't go there and let all your friends know not to go there. This is America, and if you are going to conduct your business this way...I say, we don't want or need you and your business!!!!!! Please share this with all your friends, don't let this jerk get away with this!

They need healthier food at the spur and if they dont get it im probably going to sue them!

It's true. I worked for this man and The Rusty Spur and I have not been paid a penny! I am having to sue for lost wages. In thjis economy it has put me in a situation to where I am about to be evicted from my home because of non payment from the Rusty Spur. He doesn't even care. I put in the hours and the work. He let me go because my pay was adding up and after doing the job for him he desided that he could do it himself and not pay. I am sick by everything! I am in a financial state because of non payment! How do people get away with it? Please post to your sites! I can tell you also that the food is very un healthy and not kept or hansled properly from what I saw with my own eyes. I wouldn't eat there! They don't even use sanitizer on the dishes. There is none there. They cut food on the same piece of coriander over and over chichen to beef to vegetables. Again no sanitizer in the house. Be aware!

In a time when people are out of work and our ecnomoy is on the down side, it seems to me that people that are cheating other people out of their pay have no place running a business. I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know not to go to The Rusty Spur, the guys a cheat and should be ran out of town

If everyone would stop falling into his poor sob stories and realize he owes every dang business money as well as many people around here. I mean c'mon, most of us round here have known him for many years and have always known he is a habitual liar, and doesn't pay his help. I personally have had many experiences with him not paying me over the past twelve years, but like most around here, I have caught myself feeling sorry for him at times and falling into his trap and go back time after time to assist him in some way. Well I had my final straw with him one year and a half ago, and refuse to ever work for him again. I have always been an "acquantence" of his, but I know deep inside he never truly cared or he wouldn't have misled me about doing work with him and about waiting around weeks at a time to get paid. I do like the man in spite of all this, but refuse to work for him, and I do know from personal experience and from other businesses that he is a crook and doesn't pay his bills and alot of the time doesn't pay his employees. Please people, realize Mike isn't the business man he thinks he is; he needs to stick to Cabinet Making at the Vocational school, it's the only thing he's good at; well besides chasing women; however, we've all seen some of them too!!! baahahahahahaaaa

He is a looser and sucks people dry. He has drained his girlfrien Theresa's savings to put into a club that doesn't pay it's bills and wont be open for long. She is retired because of MS. How low will he go?!

Did you happen to notice that no one posting on here is from Heflin. Stay in your town if you don't like our businesses. We will be fine without you. I recommend everyone come and try it for yourself and don't take the word of people who are mad because they got fired.

How do people get away with it and why is he teaching our children????? I think he should be tossed out of the school system and the city. He's giving Heflin a bad name!

Mikey,if what you are saying about not being paid is true, that is totally unacceptable and you should be compensated. I wouldnt have worked past the second week if I wasnt being paid, but hey, thats me. I am sure you trusted him and thought you would be paid, but its sad to say that in this day and time, its hard to trust anyone when it comes to your money and your pay. I hope you get whats due you, you deserve to be paid for your time worked. As far as the food quality and health issues, I think this may be a stretch and a little more anger than truth. First of all, the health dept wouldnt let him operate without the proper equipment. He gets inspected monthly and has to meet certain health standards to remain open. Second- if I recall correctly, You were hired as the manager to train the emplyees and manage the bar. As manager its your responsibilty to make sure that the bar is operated properly and employees are performing their tasks properly. So my question is this? Is the bar really that unhealthy and if so, why didnt you do your job?

Not mad about being fired at all. She was tired of driving out there and working for no pay and was going to quit! She wasn't payed for her work and that seems to be a problem that Mike has a reputation for. I wouldn't go there. From what I've herd the Mayor of your town is not to happy with it either.

Mikey had no power over the kitchen. That was T Bos and Mikes and she stayed out of it. Any suggestions that she made for health they ignored and were offended by her knowledge. She did her job and is being cheated by a lier and a cheat. From the comments on this page he is pretty well known for this and it's too bad that she didn't know this before she put in the hours and labor. She is sufferring now from not being paid and I think it is wrong for any one to have to suffer when they put in the time and labor. This is America and it is un American to treat your fellow man in such a way.

First of all why did you work there for so long without getting paid? Second of all, if it was so unhealthy and the food was being prepared improperly why are you just now reporting all this? Sounds like you have a problem with Mike that has nothing to do with getting paid or how he runs his business.
If I were you I would delete all this trash before he hires his own attorney and sues you for defamation and slander, which is exactly what I would do if I were in his shoes!!
I have known him for years and my husband has worked for him and he has worked for my husband with NO PROBLEMS whatsoever.

The Mayor of Heflin is a JOKE!!! The only person she is happy with is herself!!! So to say she is not happy with Mike is not saying much at all!

There seems to be a little misunderstanding. Were you the manager or a bartender. The reason I ask is that managers don't make tips. They make a straight salary. I know for a fact that you split tips with the other girls that worked there. That would make you a bartender/waitress and you are only entitled to $2.13 an hour plus tips.

If that is true, someone please write her a check for $50 or $60 so she will go away. Really??!!? Is that little bit of money worth all this. And you are lying when you say "I didn't make a penny!" You made the same amount in tips and everyone else and they are not running the place in the ground!!!!!!!!!!

I am not saying she shouldnt be paid for her work, she most certainly deserves that. I just know when you start pointing fingers at people there are 3 pointing back at you. I dont know Mikey personally and am not doubting she didnt get paid, but I dont think she gets a free pass on the health issues regardless of whether she was or wasnt over the kitchen. She was the MANAGER and its her responsibility to the customers and employees to report those concerns. Afterall, she was the one at the bar when the health inspectors came in (Mie was at school), she could have advised them of her concerns if she really felt it was as bad as she stated in her post. So again I ask, is the food preparation really that unhealthy? I know yall wanted to make this about money not paid,(and its not right she hasnt been paid, but she made an accusation about food prep that effects everyone that has ate there. If its true, it needs to be reported, if its not, its sour grapes (pun intended)

I was hired to set up and help run his club, as well as bartend and train his daughter Mahala to bartend and train his servers. I have whitnesses that have signed statements to this and will be in court. They were present at the meeting prior to me being hired. I did my job. Mike hired me to do. If this was unsatisfactory to him then it was in his right to terminate me. I accept this and am happy to not be there. The issue is pay. I did the work asked as a manager and bartender. Not at $2.13 an hour. The pay would normally be at $10 an hour for a manager. I asked him to pay me minamum wage for the labor put in. NOT AS A BARTENDER! We had an agreement and now he is trying to get out of paying a proper wage.

The tips that were collected were only enough to cover the expense of gas to get there. I know FOR A FACT! So get your facts right, that there are managers tat bartend and collect tips. I can provide this evidence in court and will. As well as tha actual managers in person. I make $6 an hour at my present job as a bartender and am up for a raise and can prove this. Why would any one leave a job at this rate of pay to go 55 miles to bartend at $2.13 an hour that should be interresting to prove. The facts are that the work was provided and now he doesn't want to pay what is owed at minamum wage much less then owed. It doesn't matter if his oppinion is that I didn't do it right. You still have to pay for the work weather you like it or not. It's labor! and if you son't like it you fire but you still have to pay!
