I had been looking for years for Switzers licorice and and when I finally found it I was thrilled. To my disappointment, when I received it, it was nothing like the switzers I remembered. The one I loved was not shiny and it was soft and oh so tasty. This was shiny, hard and the taste was certainly not what I knew. I was terribly disappointed. What happened to my Switzers licorice?

I am excited to hear Switzers is back. If I am correct, I remember them making a grape flavor before the brand disappeared. I have not tried it since it came out again because I have not yet seen it in Chicago. I am going to look for it and when I find it, I pray it tastes the same.

Hi All, I have been a licorice "junky" since the 50's. Have eaten every brand name of licorice that I have come across since I was a boy. None I really like till now. Actually here are 2.#1 is REDVINES black bars-NOT the twists. Although they are a bit hard to chew, the flavor is certainly worth the effort.#2 LUCKY COUNTRY, Aussie Style Soft Gormet Licorice. Theu have a black and a red. Only tried the black and it IS THE BEST!!! Flavor and texture are to die for!! I live in NJ and I found both of these at Wahlgreens pharmacy. GOOD Hunting! The old style is out there we just have to keep looking. Peace, Mark @ jmj8593@cs.com

It can be bought at Cracker Barrel Restaurants. Although it's not as good as it used to be. It's not as soft either.
Was very disappointed!

I would like to find a copy of their artwork to help design a new box for them. It woul;d be better than having to redraw the horse and carriage.

they have relaunched it and you cam find it in the candy isle at local st. louis markets, but beware: you will be in for a HUGE let down. It is not at all the same licorice I knew as a kid in the late 80's. Boo. Let's help them change back to the old recipe!

I get an imported Australian licorice at an Amish candy stall in a market near me in New Jersey. I believe it is called "Kookabura" brand. It is the real thing, not Aussie "style" like Lucky Country, and not that plastic trash they try and pass off now. I certainly do remember the old Switzers, and the old Nibs, and this is as close as you can get. I grew up in Camden, N.J, home of McAndrew & Forbes, a liorice root extraction plant (also home of "Right Dress mulch), so I know my licorice. I hope some of you can find this, cause it's out there.

Well they replaced the sugar with CORN SYRUP. That'll spoil anything. I remember the real thing from when I was a child. I was so hoping to find the real thing.
