Well, Ms. Reina, stop jammering about thngs not being fair. What's not fair is that most of us non-state employees only get between 6 to 6v paid holidays if employed full tiem, and many employers make sure to work you the maximum amount of hours they can before you get from part to full time. How about your very generous vacation pay? Personal days? Insurance and retirement packages? Remember taht all of you state employees are paid with tax payer money, so stop coping an attitude of entitlement. Some of you work very hard and have to put up with a lot of grouchy people, especially during hard times. I have, however, run into my fair share of extrememly rude and arrogant state employees who behaved in a way that they would have been fired if acting this way in the private sector. So, while I don't mind that you enjoy the good life during the fat years, don't insist on this feeling of right and entitlement during the lean years. Remember that technically you are being paid through people who get far less holidays, personal days, sick leave vacation pay and on and on than you do. Many of the rest of us would also like to unionize, but have to fear to get fired if the boss finds out about that, he/she just makes up a bogus reason on why the person should be fired. By the way , when I was hired, I had far more perks than I currently enjoy. As times got tough, the boss/corporate office ust send out a memo to inform us of the various cuts, and if we didn't like it we had the choice to leave the company altogether, but as you know, quitting your job means you don't get unemployment. Hope I can keep my crappy perk job long enough to help pay your holidays and retirement.

Sorry about the spelling mistakes, guess I should have proofread before posting, but certain peoples' entitlement feelings rob me of the patience to do so.

Dear Annette,
Why don't you take a job in public sector so you can enjoy the benefits as well. I can't remember ever working for an evil boss. I work for private company and my boss offers what public employees can only dream of.

Being that the vacation time was bargained between the union reps and state employers-the appropriate thing would be tyo take a vote get a consensus for these difficult times to give up a couple of holidays- it should not be arbitrated by the governor during hard times it is better for people to agree to giving up a little vs the risk of losing it all because everything is too tight.
Now what I also believe is the higher up management needs to also give up equally.
Where I work -my boss took a huge cut along with everyone else so that we could keep open AND also keep an employee on who would otherwise be without a job!
Too often upper management wants to let goof many employees to bring costs down - when TRUTH be known -with a 10% cut on some of their salaries a couple of positions could be kept plus in many situations the 10% cut is a mere inconvenience vs a hardship.

I am so sick of the cry baby state workers these people have no clue all they think about is poor me.
well what about poor us that pay your overinflated salaries as well as you holiday pay and vacations.
I have to work reduce 1.5 days a month in order to help rein in our budget. No complaints from Me. I do what I need to do to keep the doors open.
But not the State workers that bought too big of a house, Boat or whatever.
Business need to Work Reduce and lay off in order to survive this economy. Why should the State or the Feds for that matter be any different.
Time to suck it up.

"The public always cries about the benefits we get," she said, "but that's the perk of working for state government."

Yeah, and one of the perks of being the ELECTORATE is that we can VOTE to CUT OFF FUNDING and GET RID of a lot of you dead weight "public servants".

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Cancer

If you want to avoid having a row with someone, get out and about as much as possible today so you can work off all your nervous energy. If you stay in one place for too long you'll be in danger of becoming moody, and possibly even a right old crosspatch. You might also lose your temper with loved ones who are being bolshie or who have the audacity to disagree with you about something. Lighten up, Cancer!
