Stop offshoring them Jobs

After hearing President-elect Obama promise to create more jobs, as one step to fix our economy, I think there also should be more concern about jobs being shipped overseas.

When was the last time you wore a shirt, underwear, a pair of slacks or a suit that was made it the U.S.A.? Or purchased a kitchen utensil or a tool made here? Eventually, we will be making things offshore that we won't be able to sell here because not enough people will be working to create a market. Not to mention companies that shift their answering services overseas, where most of the time I can hardly understand the person to whom I'm speaking.

I would like to see someone stand up to those companies and hit them with a windfall profits tax on the money they've saved by sending those jobs offshore. Only when there are no savings and higher costs (via taxes), will jobs begin to come home. Then, it might not be necessary to worry about "creating new jobs."

Think about that the next time your in WalMart. If you are serious about this, shop at local mom and pop store. At least if you buy something from overseas, you are supporting local economy. Try Latrobe hardware instead of Lowes. Oooh, thats right, to far out of the way or yes you will save .98 on that item at WalMart.

We ourselves hold the key to bring them back, don't buy the products anymore.
