Why hang out in the left lane?

wow ! i love this subject being discussed ! i drive from orange into the dc area every day .i have learned that the va state police are finally ticketing some slow traffic in the left lanes for failing to keep right . the drivers manual evidently says for slow traffic to stay to the right. as for our dear friend "sar" and the
others who feel as she does- she might want to apply to apply for employment with one the police departments and that way she can help control traffic= other wisse she should obey the law and move to the right and at least she will be right.

When driving from Fredericksburg to Orange, there are
(pick your favorite word that I cannot type here)
lets say MORONS...who get in the left lane at WaWa
and stay there until they turn left on Rt. 20. They drive approxamately 52 mph and won't budge.
It makes me furious!! THEY will cause wrecks as other
frustrated people try to zig-zag around them.
It's about time the police start to enforce this rule more diligently!!

People who drive slow in the left lane should be clubbed like baby seals LOL. They have no regard for others.

An older woman and I were talking one day about driving on highways and I had told her that I was a little miffed about older people driving slowly in the left-hand lane. I told her that there were signs posted for slower traffic to move to the right. She told me that her reason for driving in the right lane was that she felt safer driving there where she could see the left side of the grass to road instead of driving on the right where she couldn't see where the grass and road were. I proceeded to tell her that insurance companies state that while driving, the driver is better off driving with the speed of the traffic in the lane they are traveling in versus driving the posted speed limit. The rationale is "you become a threat" to other drivers. I also insisted that the State where I was, as well as most others, have road rules (otherwise known as laws) that say to stay out of the lane unless you are traveling as fast as the traffic in the left lane or you are passing. Now, on the other hand, there should be a prudent rule that the left-hand lane should be used only for passing and then returning back to the right lane. This allows an open lane, in most cases, for any and all emergency vehicles responding to pass vehicles in the right lane without incident. Morale of the story: If you're not driving as fast as the car in the left lane, or not passing a car in the right lane ----STAY OUT OF IT! You may be receiving the next pretty pink piece of paper.

No those persons who drive slow in the left lane should not be clubbed like baby seals or harmed or messed with. I don't drive slow but perhaps someone has a headache and trying their best and will get off at a exit soon to their home. Most drive too exceedingly fast so no reason to pick on those not running over small children and dogs. So I see no reason for this discussion. If you need to speed so badly try walking through the house quick. I'll be glad when speeding on rds not supposed to exceed forty miles per hour be more regulated [and the cops send their time more wisely than picking on the slow]. Everybody already goes tons faster than horse carriage now so quit complaining./

Amen to that. I'll vote for any politican that will make shooting them legal*, after putting up with them every day on my commute.

*Except in DC, due to gun control laws LOL
