black river "BAND". hmmm... well it's probably not a cooking seminar, so it would probably be a safe guess that it was a band....

They are a fairly new local band. I've heard them play twice. You better go now because I don't think they will be playing just locally for long.

Oh no, you took my comment wrong. I think they will go onto bigger towns and cities.

If its the same group, my husband and I saw them at Whitewater State Park in the summer when we camped there with my cousins family. We had taken our horses over and spent the weekend and they played at some kind of shelter. Not bad, singer was OK - guitars were LOUD. They were like a metal garage band trying to play country (??) Guitar was covering up most of the other instruments, I may be biased since my husband and his friends play in a band here in Rushville - they play in a couple pubs and clubs around here, mainly country and some southern rock. I used to live in Liberty and have friends there so I check out the gossip on here once in a while... might be worth $3

Talked to my cousin today. He was at OTs last night, he said the band wasnt terrible, but the sound was bad. Said it was the same as I described in my first post. He said his friend told him it was like Iron Maiden meets Johnny Cash (??). He got his $3 worth..... then he and his friends left early.

..iron maiden meets johnny cash...i guess that's a pretty fair statement. we do try to mix it up a little. i don't think we actually play any iron maiden- but we do play some johnny cash. we played the marine corp. aux. last night, i think it sounded pretty good!(and i've been told i'm pretty critical) anyway- due to some geographical relocations and pursuing other interests...we may be looking for a lead guitar and a lead singer for a new years eve show (paying gig) if you or someone you know fits this description- let's get together. my email is jtownsend1210@verizon.net

i appreciate everybody coming out to the park and ots to hear us play . it really means a lot to me considering i never thought that i would ever get this far with a band. weve worked very hard to get where we're at and i want to thank the band members, all of them, for the work that they put into it .from the cold ass practices in my garage ,i know it was hell lol, but you guys handled it very well.thanks to everyone associated with the band and all those who had any kind of faith in us. see ya soon .

OT's show on Friday was pretty good. Country is not usually my cup of tea, but the musicianship was there. Good luck to you guys. :)

My husband and I went there last year with my cousin and friends from Liberty and saw a great coumtry - classic rock band. They had a great variety of music, even did Elvis :) I don't remember their name, but I remember they had a steel guitar player and their lead guitar player was amazing! Sounds like OT's is the place to be! We need to get back there. Anybody know the band I'm talking about or if they are coming back?

You are no doubt unbiased. I saw them. Not that great. Hope they have day jobs, otherwise starvation might be an issue.

Actually yeah we do all have day jobs. Do you have any idea what kind of sacrifice we make being away from our families? Approximately 3 days a week for almost a year on top of being gone at work all day. We aren't trying to be rock stars we're just trying to have fun. Criticism is one thing, but we would rather see constructive criticism allowing us to improve where the crowd thinks we need work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, that way we aren't wasting our time when we could be moving ahead.
