The Killer of Independence Avenue Prostitutes

I'm sorry. In the above post, I was writing to Curious Daughter.

Has anything been found out about Tammie? She was in my sixth grade class at Karnes. She was very strong, and very bright.

I'd like to know if anyone out there knows about a girl named "Lana" who became a murdered,pregnant victim of the killer of Independence Avenue in 1997-98. Her body was thrown off of the Paseo Bridge in KC,Mo. and was beheaded. her torso was found later but her head was never found.
she grew up next door to my cousin on Elmwood Ave. in N.E. Kansas City. I just learned about her death a few days ago and was so saddened by it. I knew Lana as a child.

I just found out less than a month ago,that an old childhood aquaintance had become a victim of this serial killer. She got off into drugs and prostitution,and was pregnant at the time she was murdered.
I haven't been the same since this was told to me. She seems to be one of the
Girls who weren't mentioned alot in this murdering spree, but Lana Kay Alvarez was a good person, none the less. A mom of a lovely young lady,who at that time was only 5 years old. Even if not on earth...YOU, the murderer of these young women..will deal with your creator. thats right..you can't escape or hide from God. I will be there on Judgement day along with all the other people who knew what you did, or were victim's families.
I pray to God that they catch you soon..and you get what you have comming.

Are we even sure it was the same person who killed them all?

If a decent detective is monitoring this board they will pick up on the pattern I have which I will not point out on here...maybe you should call the pd and make sure someone is looking into this new case info. That also means the PD was irresponsible and therefore also responsible for the deaths the killer/s did while Breeden was locked up.

My dad said he had fathered a child with one of the victims in the early to mid 80's. They were young so the mom put her up for adoption. He said the baby was a girl.as far as he knew. Anyone know of any of the women who had placed a baby up for adopton? my father passed 7 years ago. so my memory is foggy.

Hi,I see that a lot of these post are from about four or five years ago. I was about 16 when these killings were happening. I honestly knew a little about them but as I got older I had the chance to do some reading and find out that these women were brutally murdered.I have also seen that sense then these murderes have not been brought back to the surface or even really talked about. I have mentioned it to people I know and alot of them knew nothing about what I was talking about. But I want to change that, I am speaking to the families of these women. If you are out there and get a chance to read this, I am a person who wants to help by bringing these women back to the surface. I want to write a book about these women and thier lives, and what they were like before they were killed. My intentions are not to bring pain to you or gain anything thing from it. I am a normal everyday person who wants to help maybe solve these cases by wrtiting this book. My belief is that if some one reads it , it may spark their memory even though I have read that they have found a person that could be responsible, my book could help put that piece of the puzzle together that could help put this man away. I want and need your blessing and I promise to only put the facts and true information in this book that will shine a different light on these women. Instead of people remebering them as prostitutes that were found dead, let them remeber them as they were born on this earth, as someone's daughter, mother, sister, niece, aunt, grand daughter. you can email me at mrs_rodriguez27@yahoo.com. I am asking for information of thier lives before they were killed so when I write this book it will explain how they died, but it will also explain what type of women they were before they chose that life or if that life was chosen for them. People will be able to see them for the women they were before and maybe just maybe help finally get the person responsible for thier untimely deaths.

I want to help because the more I read about new bodies that were found the more inspiration it is giving me to write about these women and the pain their families have suffered.
