Obama launches TV ad touting coal

“Barack Obama is telling Kentucky voters he 'understands' coal, but fails to mention that he has proposed taxing coal, voted against coal-to-liquid legislation and that his own energy policy would restrict the growth of Kentucky's coal industry”

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama launched a new TV ad in Lexington and Bowling Green this weekend that features an Illinois miner praising the candidate for his work on coal issues. via Lexington Herald-Leader

It seems to me kind of curious that the president or even a senator can actually personally do the kinds of things claimed in this ad. Why make promises that there is no way that you can full fill it. "No body in Washington is listening to us", but apparently Obama does, or does he? This is just another politicians magic trick a slip of the hand if you will to get elected. Why can not people see this?

This is the same guy who said that people were clinging to guns and religion. Does he not realize that coal miners and most people in the coal industry are the very people who he was talking about..obama is not the coal miner's friend. GO HILLARY!

Funny thing is Obama is running commericials and appearing in central and eastern KY, yet he refuses to visit Western KY. But then again, I guess we are just the "typical white person, whom clings to religion and guns" I will be voting for Hillary.

Televangelist John Hagee apologizes to Catholics By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer

Stupid Donohue, Catholic protector, stepping
in line due to fear of Zionist Rule.

WASHINGTON - John Hagee, an influential Texas televangelist who endorsed John McCain, apologized to Catholics Tuesday for his stinging criticism of the Roman Catholic Church and for having "emphasized the darkest chapters in the history of Catholic and Protestant relations with the Jews."

Hagee's support for McCain has drawn cries of outrage from some Catholic leaders who have called on McCain to reject Hagee's endorsement. The likely Republican nominee has said he does not agree with some of Hagee's past comments, but did not reject his support.

In a letter to William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, Hagee wrote: "Out of a desire to advance a greater unity among Catholics and evangelicals in promoting the common good, I want to express my deep regret for any comments that Catholics have found hurtful."

Donohue, one of Hagee's sharpest critics, said he accepted the apology and planned to meet with Hagee Thursday in New York.

"I got what I wanted," Donohue said in an interview. "He's seen the light, as they like to say. So for me it's over."
ITS NOT FOR ME STUPID

The controversy had threatened to pursue McCain throughout the campaign, potentially hurting his standing with Catholic voters. A narrow majority of Roman Catholics voted for President Bush in 2004 and for Al Gore in 2000, critical votes in close elections.

The letter came after Hagee met Friday for lunch in a French restaurant in downtown Washington with 22 influential religious activists, virtually all of them Catholics.

Hagee has cited the Inquisition and the Crusades as evidence of anti-Semitism within the Catholic church and has suggested that Catholic anti-Semitism shaped Adolf Hitler's views of Jews.
----- GERMANS WENT BEZERKOWITZ------Why?---
--giving all they had and then backstabbed ---
"In my zeal to oppose anti-Semitism and bigotry in all its ugly forms, I have often emphasized the darkest chapters in the history of Catholics and Protestant relations with the Jews," Hagee wrote. "In the process, I may have contributed to the mistaken impression that the anti-Jewish violence of the Crusades and the Inquisition defines the Catholic Church. It most certainly does not."

I have to admit that I find this very interesting. I am from KY and lived there most of my life. I am white however most of my relatives that I live around are African American so I am not going to dare argue race on this matter. If you think about it though why is it that Obama was barely in WV a majority white state and why is it that he is barely showing in Eastern KY where it is majority white. I think he is the one with a race issue. Correct me if I am wrong but that man is at least 1/2 white but you don't see him campaigning as a bi-racial person you see him campaigning as an African American. The man seems to forget that his mother was as white as most of the people in Eastern KY. I have only voted Democratic one time in my life and was hoping to this election so that I could show my support to Hilary Clinton but I gotta tell ya if Hilary doesn't win the nomination I will have to vote for McCann. I want a President that I know is goingg to finish what we started instead of making us look like cowards that want to start trouble but not finish the job. I am tired of our country looking like a bunch that wants to be the leader until it gets hard and then lets pull out and go home. I want to know that the people that lost their lives over there lost them for a reason and not because we didn't have anything better to do. Obama is not experienced enough in politics as a first term senator to know how to lead a country with so many issues. So those of you that vote for him can thank yourselves when we have another 4 years of the Bush era. I work in repossessions and collections so I will be honest and tell ya that Bush isn't hurting my pocket and I don't think McCann will either but there are a lot of good people being hurt financially that deserve to go back to the Clinton years for a while.

Edwards endorsement pays off for Obama

By STEPHEN OHLEMACHER, Associated Press Writer 13 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama collected the support of four of John Edwards' Democratic National Convention delegates on Thursday, then gained the backing of four superdelegates and a large labor union as he marched steadily toward the party's presidential nomination.

The fresh support brought Obama's overall delegate total to 1,895, compared to 1,718 for his rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton. It takes 2,026 to clinch the nomination at the party convention in Denver this summer.

Edwards, who bestowed his long-sought endorsement on Obama on Wednesday, won 19 delegates before departing the presidential race in January.

Within hours, Obama picked up the backing of three of them from South Carolina and one in New Hampshire.

In addition, three superdelegates — Reps. James McDermott of Washington, and Henry Waxman and Howard Berman of California — endorsed Obama.

"I believe now is the time to unite behind Barack Obama so we can be in the strongest place possible to win in November," McDermott said.

blah, blah, blah same bull different day. Always has to be about race. Can't be that he has the experience of a junior senator and not someone that has been in politics long enough to have the experience a company in the shape that the United States is in needs. I am so tired of hearing that if you are white and don't vote for obama then you must be racist. If that is true then what does it say about the woman that don't vote for Hillary Clinton or the black men that don't vote for McCain. Does that mean that the African Americans that don't vote for the white canidate are racist. I would really like to hope not. People really need to get over trying to make this an election about race hell remember Obama is at least 1/2 white too so he doesn't just belong to the black race. Remember this race needs to be based on experience and what can be brought to our country by this canidate that is elected. Are we going to elect him and then have a white house with race issues for 4 years I hope not.

Thank you for giving a reason for your opposition to Obama. That is more than most of the people posting racist hate on this site can do. You will vote your conscience in November, I trust, but allow me to point out that Obama has as much experience as Abraham Lincoln had when he was elected.

In 2002, Dick Cheney was hailed as the grownup, the most experienced man in Washington, who would moderate the callow Bush on foreign policy. Look how well that worked out.(not!)

AAs are not racist. They backed HRC by 85% until Bill started spewing racist poison in the runup to SC. As the Clinton campaign became more and more racist, they switched to Obama.

By all means, vote your conscience, but W. KY is well known as the center of IKA (KKK) activity in Kentucky.

They didn't need their white sheets or pointed hats this time.

Their steel-toed black boots with red laces were enough to crack the teenage boy's ribs, break his arm, hurt his jaw and inflict enough emotional damage to last a lifetime.

For Jarred Hensley and Andrew Watkins, two members of the nation's second-largest Ku Klux Klan group, the mistaken belief that Jordan Gruver was Hispanic was apparently reason enough for them to beat the 16-year-old to the ground after showering him with racial slurs, spit and whiskey at a Kentucky county fair in July, according to court papers.

The year was not 1865. It was 2006....The IKA, whose headquarters are in Dawson Springs, Ky., "promotes violence and intimidation and calls for the death of racial and ethnic minorities, homosexuals and so-called 'race traitors,'" said SPLC president Richard Cohen in a statement...."

Yes, I am well aware of where the KKK calls home, just like you are considering your ISP location is from Princeton, KY.
As far as voting my conscience, I will do just that. Obama supporters want to make this race about the color of a persons skin. I for one could care less if he/she were green and had enough intelligent and moral character, to lead the United States of America, I would happily support.
Furthermore, I read Mr. Obama's first book, long before this man was running for the most important office in this great country. He is RACIST, there is no way to spin it. Plain and simple.
You see there was a wise college professor who made our english class read his book and write a term paper on it. This professor saw the "writing on the wall."
I have also taken the time to read his 2nd book, the part about him saying (and I am going to paraphrase at this point) should the tides turn against the Muslims, than I (Obama) will stand with them.
That along is more than enough reason for me not to vote for any person; white, purple, black, green or red!!!!!!

I find it amusing that you say Obama's supporters are all about race, since you focused on the issue in your first post, just as you do in this one.

Obama supporters are all about issues. Just in case you are actually interested in the welfare of the country, here are his proposals:

I doubt that you care enough about the country to even look at them.

All the Clintons know is how to send American JOBS AWAY to foreign countries. The number of JOBS the CLINTON NAFTA trade agreement that both Clintons have praised for years- the number of JOBS OUT-Sourced by Clintons NAFTA-CAFTA agreements would make a country in itself. This staying with the PAST-- the CLINTONS will hurt Americans more. The Foreign country(Dominican Republic) where the Clintons bought a home last year are just WAITING to get more of American JOBS. Don't vote for the Clintons greed and lust for power. Besides, Bill and Hillary Clinton have a Fraud case that is 5 years running in California filed by a man named Peter Paul. Who needs this yet another piece of BAD baggage coming back into the White House? Kentucky should NOT be a carbon copy of West Virginia's being suckered by the Clintons. Vote OBAMA. Obama is backed by very credible and highly skilled public servants who will do what is best for Americans.

I have to tell you that honestly this forum has been quite entertaining. I have to agree with the lady that it doesn't matter what color you are if you are fit to run the country. It doesn't matter what gender you are if you are fit to run the country. But because we don't stand behind Obama doesn't mean we are racist it means that we feel there is a better canidate out there. As I stated before if Obama wins the nomination then I will vote for McCain because I want someone that has the experience this country needs. I could care less that Obama is a man that wants to call himself African American when in all aspects he is actually bi-racial. Now you tell me if he isn't a racist himself why is it he forgets to claim his white side when he is campaigning. I have 2 of the most beautiful bi-racial nieces in the world and they embrace both their African American side and their white side. My brother-in-law is African American and he is one of the best people that I know. So you see you can call me what you want I am at least open to admit who I am why would I want to vote for a man that can admit what he is. He isn't the African American canidate he would have been better off leaving that off completely the man would have been better off running as the canidate of the people not just of the people that he claims as his.

Okay, you want "change" exactly what does Obama offer in the way of change? What specific programs, or ideas does he offer, other than the catch word change itself?
His proposals are these:

1. Raise tax rates by eliminating the Bush Tax Cuts, that will have a 33% increase on EVERY working American. Change? It is simply removing change that happened in 2006 and would only leave change in your pocket.

2. Raise taxes on the "rich." That is the standard policy of ever democrat since FDR except for JFK who lowered them. It also ALWAYS slows down the economy and causes there to be less jobs for the lower and middle class. It also lowers the amount of revenue that comes in from these higher earners since they shift their attention from producing more to protecting what they have.

3. Raise corporate taxes with Windfall Profits taxes. This has been done over and over again by the left. What they seem to never understand is that it always lowers production, raises the price on products.(corporations don't pay taxes, they pass them on to their customers, you and me in increased pricing.) It also cuts jobs, and ALWAYS hurts the lower and middle classes the most.

4. Raise taxes on foreign companies who do business here through tariffs. Every time this is done, it simply raises the end price to American consumers, and slows the economy.

These are the changes that Obama is wanting to bring you. None are new, and none work, they have a long track record of failure every time they have been tried.
The last time we tried all of these was during the Jimmy Carter administration and it produced the worst economy since the Great Depression. We had double digit inflation, interest rates as high as 21% for mortgages, double digit unemployment, and a nightly Misery index on the news.
Before Jimmy Carter they were all tried together once before under Herbert Hoover, they then caused the Great Depression.
Change? How about, more of the same failed policies that should have long ago been put on the dumpster of history never to see the light of day again.

Obama - why spend energy on trying to help
a hopeless cause. These election cycles are
designed solely for a cancer that drains us,
this is what our elections appear to be all
about.

Mr Bush lavished praise on Israel and barely mentioned the Palestinians in his speech,
which marked the 60th anniversary of Israel's foundation. And then goes to the Arabs begging
them to increase production - no no no no
such ignorant diplomacy that you've spouted
to placate the parasite that has invaded
both your body and the land of our people,
you must be joking, go fly a kite.

In a speech in Egypt on Sunday, Mr Bush said the Arab world needed to reform, to serve Israel,
as Euros and USns are programmed to do.

Osama Bin Laden loves this guy. McSame will
likewise be Osama choice. Such a pair will
continue the blood and treasure drain, from
y'all. The 2-Fer will equally serve our ME
millstone (around our necks) just as well,
keeping the hatred of us, alive.

We serve as mercenaries in the protection
of folks claiming to be g-d's own - that's
what the Iraq invasion and occupation is
all about.
