He should be charged! There is no excuse in taking someones kids, I have had debtors climb into and even under the unit when it's seized ....but thats what the police are for, to keep the peace and allow us to SAFELY do our job. There is also the problem of tow truck drivers doing repo's without a licence, we've pretty much nipped that in the butt but theres still the odd bozo that thinks he can get away with it, here in B.C. it's considered grand theft auto if you are not licensed! Hope he gets whats coming.

Three counts of kidnapping period. You do not endanger the lives of three children for a bounty. Repoman was just too lazy to wait for safe opportunity. Yeah parents screwed up but kids should NOT be endangered for this.

I disagree

The mother shouldn't have left her kids unattended in the car. She partly to blame. She should be charged like everybody else who gets caught leaving their kids like that.

I have been in the repossession business for several years and am stunned by this situation. I can't believe someone would have a repo driver that doesn't have a license driving for them. I can't believe a real mother would leave her children unattended in a car. I know that things happen but if the repo man had checked the vin number like he was supposed to he should have noticed that the children were in there. As far as the repo man being to lazy maybe you should put yourself in his shoes. There are not very many safe opportunities to repo a vehicle that is why they hire someone to go out and "legally steal" their vehicles back from a nonpaying person. The kids weren't put in danger by the repo man they were put in danger by their mother. She is the one that should be charged. If I had been him I would have honestly waited for her to come out after I read the vin and found her kids and gave her the option of surrendering the vehicle or having the police called on her for leaving a toddler and infant in the car with an 8 year old. Believe it or not the repo man isn't always the bad guy.

Why isn't the mom being charged with child endangerment. How many kids a year die from being left in cars? This Recovery agent made a simple mistake.....It isn't kidnapping. It is horrible parenting.
