Yesterday, my sister and I both got tickets. When I called Bartonville to find out the cost of the citation, they could not tell me. As of Friday, they did start writing citations for rolling stops. While the police officer (very courteous)took our information (about 25 minutes) we saw 2 huge groups go by. One group even taunted the policeman. We also saw about 25 people run that same stop sign at Jeter. While I am upset that I have to pay around $200 for this ticket, I think Bartonville had no choice. This change in policy in Bartonville is because of the large, mostly male, arrogant bike riders who have to do a PR everytime they ride and relieve themselves wherever they like. What are you, a bunch of triathletes? I have to pay the fine, I ran the sign.

I think bikes should be banned entirely from busy roads - they are traffic hazards. The law says that they must ride close to the right curb, which groups rarely seem to do - instead, they ride side-by-side and block the whole lane.
Riding on a busy road with a high speed limit is also suicidal - Frustrated drivers don't always pass safely, but they are protected by a metal box, whereas cyclists can experience life-altering injuries in even low-speed collisions with a car or SUV, whether they have a snazzy helment on or not.

crashalot and her sister got tickets for running a stop sign. This is why there is a problem - cyclists don't always follow the rules (but neither do drivers of cars).
crashalot - what do you have against men? Your post seems really anti-guy.

Bartonville PD must be taking lessons from Flowermound PD on how to harass citizens with unreasonable traffic tickets.

We are exhausted from the cyclist clogging our two lane roads, urinating in public, throwing their trash on our lawns! There should be a statewide law banning cyclists from riding on two lane roads. I support the Bartonville ordinance, and have enjoyed not having them takeover the roads since this ordinance was passed. Thank you, and keep issuing the tickets!

You live in Plano. Why do you care.
Maybe Flower Mound needs to pass an ordinance barring Bartonville residents from our town. Seems like all the trash on our roads is from Bartonville white trash trailer dwelling inbred mutants that visit our fast food restaurants.
