Dams for dams sake?

Full story: The Reporter

As a Vacaville resident who knows where much of her water comes from, I understand why some of our state political leaders want to be sure that dams are included in any discussion about California's water future.

No. 1 on my hit list of dams to knock down is Hetch Hetchy. California would be better off without it and without the reservoir behind it. Ya think?

Damn!

Knocking 'em all down would force 3/4 of California's population to move back east (and back down south of the border). Or, it might provide a bonanza to the bottled water industry.

The more the better? Yes, absolutely, except for Hetch Hetchy. Just think of the benefits of drying up San Francisco's source of water.

And ... we would have a second "Yosemite Valley."

Yosemite Valley, with all its granite, would be a great nuclear waste depository. And in knocking down the Hetch Hetchy dam, where would Frisco get most of it's water?

O.I.C. Now I see where you're coming from now. The ultimate solution for one of the most liberal cities in the U.S.

As long as I get my water and Southern California gets it's fair share of Northern California water I say build build build the dams dams dams.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Libra

Don't try to do too much at once today or you'll disappear up you know what! You're all fingers and thumbs, accident-prone and things start breaking. It won't help if you're trying to concentrate at work and a certain chatterbox doesn't know when to shut up. Ask them to be quiet but try not to sound shrewish.
