Country diner in Chapel Hill is a fun place to eat. good food, good service and not too bad cost.
LawLer's is good according to me but nothing to get carried away with. How is that sister 3 doing or whatever the name is? We drive by a lot and see 1 or 2 cars there. We don't like wasting a meal...anyone been there?

We ate at lawlers bbq the other day and both had the potato (sp, I am as bad as the guy who was running for pres) and to be honest with you, it was nothing more than a potato with seasoning, sour cream with bbq on top.
We were very dissapointed. The folks there were all so nice and the food was OK, but nothing like we heard. I had to heat up extra chicken to fill me up, my wife was fine.
Again it was just OK, nothing negative but did not match all the hype.
Maybe eating at probably 1000 different restaurants in our lifetime separates good from excellent.
it is a baked potato... what did you expect???

That answered my question in life. I heard the ribs were good.
The ribs are delicious, but a little costly.

I don't know. I guess with all the big fuss I was expecting something better than just a potato with toppings.
I guess the locals never been anywhere, ate any speciality items and that was heaven to them. We heard so much by so many and it was a big letdown to both of us.

My husband cooked left overs to make it complete for him and no, he is a regular shape man with a hearty appitite.
Is there any place here that is good to eat? We are going to the mexican place for their seafood buffet tonight. They have great survice and are friendly. I don't think they are from around here so they try to be nice.

Well i'm a local, and i've been places out of town to eat, but when you want something quick, i guess you have to stay in the city, cause we sure can't afford the gas to go very far. Not many places to eat good around here. There is a restaurant down the interstate towards Al. It's called Sarge's Shack. Need to go there and try a steak. it's on the fayetteville pulaski exit

What kind of restraunt do the people of Lewisburg really want? Family style home cooking? Bar and grill style(like a Legends type place)? All you can eat catfish? What do they want? Any suggestions? Just curious.

OK, agin, let's get real again. Where are we at? If a place like Barnhills/Golden Coral or similar ever would consider us we would eat them blind and the unemployed would fill their bags up with food.
OK, maybe not that bad, but the demographics here will not support an eating establishment such as a steak buffet. And as for a real steak house, it has to be full the majority of the time to make a profit. Lewisburg cant even support what they already have. This is the worst town for businesses, unless you sell smokes or whiskey/beer or you want to get your hair and nails done.

There is a little place in Anderson,Al called "The Fish Creel". Middle of NOwhere. I know people who don't mind driving an hour to get there and cross the state line to eat a catfish dinner there. Packed to capacity every night. People in Lewisburg would support something like that as well as people out of town if the owner was someone who really knew the restraunt business and was serious about making it work. Sometimes people in this town go into the business cause they think it will be easy or they will have more time off when they want it. If you want it to work you have to be there and care about what the customer wants.

Sorry, No one is going to travel one hour with these gas prices for what??? catfish??? I don't care how good it is. When people go out, they either go to malls, nice stores or movies and a meal. What do we have here? Thank you for understanding somone who once had a business in Lewisburg. You can't ever make people in Lewisburg happy, no matter how hard you try. It is a fact of life.

Mayor Bob told me the town was not big enough for places like Legends, Logan's, O'Charlies, etc...told me they would never make it in that town...I could probably drive to Columbia blindfolded..
