I grew Up in lewisburg. Ive never seen such a crooked town in my life. I remember when I got out of school, only the "well to do" people got the jobs in town. who wants to fight over a small pay job anyway? The town Cop (Earl Lack) at the time was an Idiot. Like a little town like that needs a Cop anyway....sheesh!

I had to get out of that town, to even make a living. although I miss that old farm, Too many small town politics for me! It's a town that oppresses the poor, and uses the Police as modern gestapos.

Once I got out of that little one-horse berg, I'm making a very good living. Id hate to think where I would be if I had stayed.

Oh yeah, I can prove it!

I grwe up in Lewisburg too, and have family that still live there. I miss living there. I live in another county now, but remember my days in Lewisburg and I loved them. I liked the school the teachers and the people. If i could I would gladly move back. Sorry Andy if you didn't have a positive experience. But I did.

I, too, grew up in Lewisburg. Though I was heavliy involved in the arts of Logan County--what little we had--my only dream was to turn 18, move away, and attend college. That's just what I did.
I now live in Louisville, KY. I have been here now for 13 years, which has gone by relatively fast. I can only imagine if I had stayed in Logan County, and Lewisburg, what my life would have been like.
I go home three times a year to see my family, of which I dearly love. Do I enjoy seeing them? Absoloutley yes. Can I breathe easier once I hit the Jefferson County line of Louisville? Absoloutley. I would never choose to live there. Though there are good individuals there, there is so much judgement passed along in the community. How can that be? Every person goes to church there. There is a church on every corner.
It is my pleasure to say that I grew up on a farm. It is not my pleasure to say that I grew up around so many people that past judgment.
In regards to Andy Taylor, I do not know him. I can definetely see the point that he was attempting to get across.

On the comment of the crooked town (blah, blah, blah). actually Lewisburg must not be such a bad town , it has stores ,auto shops, banks and industry close to and within. Not everyone can have a Bloomingdale's or a Macys, along with the great people, friendly and courteous and willing to go out of there way for others. Oh you must have not visited the town lately they stood proud and paid their respects as well as others from so many other towns were here to say THANK YOU to lewisburgs own soldier JOSH MOORE what more could the city be more proud off. He was all Lewisburg thru and thru . Now whose the IDIOT ,Andy taylor

OK, Tim. I understand your point. However, yes, when somebody dies, EVERYONE there comes out of the wooodwork to go out of their way to comfort the family. I'll give them that. However, do you think that if Josh Moore had been a fallen gay soldier, they would have responded the same way? My mother would. She went to the funeral and burial because she knew Josh. My parents are friends of Josh's parents. Josh grew up in my parents' church. I'm just putting everything into the Lewisburg looking glass......

As far as the comment about stores--there are no stores there besides a drug store, grocery, florist--for all of the people that constantly die there, gas station, and a bank. That's it. There are no more stores there.

Courteous people? No. I can remember dropping more 4 letter words trying to get out of the church parking lot on Sunday mornings with my family for the mere reason that not ONE of the church-goers would let me out of my parking space as they drove by. Please leave courteous out of the Lewisburg equation.

Tim, have you ever traveled to Lewisburg? Make your own judgments after you have conducted some thorough research in the lines of what you enjoy discussing. I'm still on Andy's side.

I'm from Adairville and Lewisburg is no more crookedier then any other city and not as much as most.Adairville use to be rouge's harbor. It hasn't been that long ago on election day everyone would get a half pint for a vote and it was a tradition to engage in some Early Times on election day. Everybody stuck together though, and still to this day, when things get bad we pull together.
You want to see crooked go across seas to Iran or somewhere like that.
And what good jobs? Untill logan aluminun came there weren't any and who says that's a good job to have anyway. It's not in my book.
How can you call someone an idiot that was close by if your house was being robbed. Did he abuse people? How many smart cops do you know?
It doesn't have any thing to do with how much money you have but when you are poor you have to work harder at being a better person which is a good thing. I know one family one family from Lewisburg, The Wilcutts and they don't get any better then them folks.
As far as rumors and lies that are told, look at the truth, what does that say about a person personility? Does it really matter what someone says as long as it's not the truth?
Try to see the good things and throw away your negative attitude

Russellville was known as Rogue's Harbor, not Adairville.

And, as well, Martha needs to invest in a good grammar course as well. Believe me, it is not my intention to make the people of Logan County look ignorant, but let's get to the root of the problem.

Martha, it should read as follows....

"So what! I did not edit what I had writte previously."

In reply, Martha, yes. I did understand the depth of what you seemed to be true.

There should be a sign on every border in Logan County that reads as follows:

Beware! Ignorance breeds here with small minded people.

Dearest Martha:

I grew up on a farm in Lewisburg. So, yes. i do know how to do the things that you were asking about above. As for milk, no, I do not drink it. As for bacon, I eat turkey bacon. Where has this gone to? If you notice, the title of this site is "Lewisburg Sucks," not "Welcome to the Farm." Let's stick to one topic here.

Well guys every town has it's ups/downs. Lewisburg is not as bad as some other areas in our state. I hope some day to have raised my children so they can make the correct choices in life, and that really has no influence on where you are raised. I grew up in South Logan and now live in North Logan and the only difference I can find is that the ground stays wet longer and there are a lot more trees and hills. Think what you may but if you look hard enough you can find something bad in everything.

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Cancer

You've got high hopes about someone or something today, and you're confident that everything will turn out well. If a positive attitude is a guarantee of a positive outcome then you have nothing to worry about. But is it? There's a chance that you're being far too optimistic, and confusing fantasy with fact. If so, you'll be in for a big disappointment.
