As an animal lover as well as a owner of a small herd of goats, please keep the pressure on and the publicity going for this. Someone is going to slip up and "brag" about the funny deer he or she shot. It's hard enough to keep small farms going without the added worry about some whack-job taking a shot at your livestock.

Congratulations to the Berkshire County League of Sportsmen. It is important for every one to know that what was done to these llamas was not representative of true sportsmen. Whether done by accident or by cruelty, the people who did this should be held accountable.

As I read the story of the attack on the Llamas in Lenox, I reacted as any normal person will, filled with disgust.
I recall the time I spent at Holiday Farm in Dalton, watching, as every day my wife, Margaret, helped care take the small herd of these gentle animals. Domesticated, very intelligent, they are a delight to watch.
Sick is the person who committed such a crime. Today the attacker kills a farm animal. Tomorrow he could move into killing another human being.
I suggest this story stay alive, tracking this swine down and bring him to pay to the full extent of the laws.
Regards

Hopefully my suggestion might help. I am not sure if local law enforcment has the capabilities of reverce cellular tower pin pointing ingoing and outbound calls. Not knowing the location of this farm, and acrage, it is possible that if someone were say trespasing on this specific location and made or placed a call while on this property that this tracking capability could help in identification.

I would caution eemidiate blame on any hunter, as most that hunt usually tend to eat what they kill and probabely would find no sportsmanship in killing an animal so cruely. I am no longer able to hunt and am limited to buying dead things at the market.

Its very likely that who ever perpatrated this act is local and probabely known to the owners of this farm!

Better yet, take a map of the area, scribe a circle with a radius of 1.5 miles, find out the names of every male under age 24 with a bow and arrow permit, then compare the arrows from each of those individuals (how many with bow and arrow permits could there possibly be living near that farm?) with the arrow tips that were extracted by police from the corpses of the dead llamas.
The perpetrator is likely one very angry kid either with a father who has also been very violent, or a kid raised in a household with no father present whatsoever.
This kind of crime can be solved with a bit of old-fashioned detective work.

I have been an archer and bow hunter all my life. This just makes me sick, if these people are found maybe they should be on the receiving end of an arrow.
