No, they do not do "security checks". The do tests to make sure they are still qualified for the job... shooting a gun, and running ect is not a security check.

I'm no Poarch or Hutch fan but lets look at the situation. Hutch had the office for 12 years and didn't implement a substation in the Southern end of the county then. What makes anyone think that he will do it now. As far as that goes why hasn't Jones placed one there yet?

When he speaks of common sense and integrity. Is that what he calls his previous 12 years in office? Go back and ask any of the former employees about some of the decisions that were made by his staff under his administration.

Hutch speaks about the murders he had under his tenure. He said he only had one unsolved murder. Which one is he talking about? The Wilma Grant murder or the TWO murders of the Seacrest's. That makes three in my book. Just the mere fact that he had 140 murder cases that he worked or supervised troubles me. That's a lot of murders in a county of this size in that period of time. That's almost six murders a year.

Just because he has been in law enforcement for about 30 years doesn't automatically make him the best man for the job nor does Poarch's experience make him or his candidate the best man for the job.

At the point and time these two individuals quit charading their child like behaviors in the local paper will the citizens truly get a true perspective of what they are made of. Until then, neither them or their candidate deserves a second look by the voters.

I'm not impressed by their words or lack of. They need to get to the business of the citizens and quit this second grade squabbling.

I am Derek Poarch and am responding to this post using my name, not an anonymous name and I am not using someone to post for me. I never read this stuff (sorry). I am only on here now because a distant family member who obviously has nothing to do said that I was being investigated by the FBI. Figured I better set the record straight. Some will believe me, some won't but here goes.

The allegations that were "reported" in the review of the Republican FCC by the Democrat controlled Congress were made by a former employee of mine who left my Bureau due to poor job performance and who made the allegations as very small part of a larger review of my boss by Democrats in Congress. All the allegations against me are untrue. Neither at the FCC or in my almost thirty years in law enforcement has there EVER been a substantiated complaint against me professionally or personally. I have all my travel records to validate what I say and would say to those posting here that having something "reported" in Washington or having someone say you should be investigated is nothing unusual particularly of you are doing your job. Probably should have more than something was reported or one member of Congress thought someone should be investigated to conclude that an accused person did anything wrong. As I told the Washington Post I did nothing illegal or unethical and I stand by that. Allegations against me were a part of a political hatchet job by Democrats. Nothing more. As to the personal discussion about my family, that is better handled in person if you want to drop the anonymous comments and face me. I am not hard to find.

I am on here, not anonymously and not using someone else to post for me. I never read this stuff (sorry) and am only replying because a distant family member who obviously has nothing to do said that an editorial says I was being investigated by the FBI. The information in this thread came from a report made by the Democrat controlled Congress against the Republican controlled FCC. I was targeted because I was from NC as was the FCC Chairman and an attempt was being made to damage him politically. What was "reported" to Democrats was never substanitiated because it isnt true. The allegations against me were made by a former employee of mine who left my Bureau due to poor job performance. I have never done anything illegal or unethical throughout my professiional career and certainly didnt do anything improper regarding my travel at the FCC. I was certainly making enough money to pay for my own personal travel! I have copies of all of my travel records to prove what I say and would suggest that unless you have facts (which you dont because there arent any) not innuendo you are barking up the wrong tree on this one. As to the personal attacks why not drop the anonymity and meet me in person to discuss. I am not hard to find.

Personally, I think both Poarch and Hutchings should grow up a bit. I was shocked that Derek would play that silly game and even more shocked that Roger would respond to it. Neither one are helping their cause. Be careful - the two leaders are gonna start racing each other so hard that they allow the one we really don't want to creap up on 'em. PLEASE don't let that happen!

Well Mr. Poarch....I don't care about all that FCC junk....but I can say for a fact that you told lies when you worked for LPD. I know because I was there when you did it. I do think Barton told you to lie, so I don't really think it was your fault. As for speaking to you in person....I will do that some day, but you know who I am. I'm not angry with you....I think Barton made you do it....but you owe me an apology.
